We needed a late evening dining spot close to the Interstate and opted for an Applebee’s that was near. It had been quite some time since we had dined at one and we were pleased to find some interesting menu selections. Our waiter was friendly and attentive from start to finish. We started with the brew pub pretzels and beer cheese dip. Starving to begin with, these were a welcomed appetizer that actually pleased all in our party. The standout grilled chicken wonton tacos were filling enough to be served as an entrée. The classic turkey breast sandwich looked better on the menu, but it worked in an average kind of way; however, the bland fries were a disappointment. The double glazed baby back ribs and three cheese chicken penne were satisfactory chain style meals that hit the spot. We don’t usually choose chains, but the service and food made for money well spent on a solid meal.
