We like to stay in Ashland on our way up from Florida and have done so many times. Twice now, we have eaten supper at the El Azteca Mexican Restaurant and each time it has been really good. The refried beans are just the best, really light and seasoned terrifically. I had the combo plate with a chalupa and chicken quesadilla. There was also Spanish rice on the plate. The chalupa was layered with refried beans, some lettuce and guacamole. My wife tried the fish tacos and they were really good. However, she is used to fish tacos in Florida were usually the fish in the taco is a whole piece of fish. In this dish the fish was cut in little pieces and mixed with some sauce, onions, etc. This fish mixture is served on the place with four soft tacos so that you can make your own. Everything was cooked just right and came out piping hot. We were quite satisfied. On the way out we saw one of the waiters taking stacks of menus and methodically wiping them down to keep clean. I am sure many other restaurants do this, but it gave a good picture of the attention to detail of this place.
