Description: Serving house-made foods for 35 years something like Gran made in her kitchen. Bread for sandwiches is baked every morning. Enjoy a turkey roll with sliced turkey roasted in our ovens and a country ham sandwich that was voted one of the best in Virginia by USA Today. The Crab Cake Sandwich is good too or you can enjoy the best-ever shrimp salad and tuna salad. Vernell bakes deep dish pies daily and the jumbo cookie case is full of selections. Lots of sides to choose from ~~ Branden's Potato Salad, Roslyn's spaghetti salad, cucumber & tomato, black-eyed pea vinaigrette, Christine's deviled eggs etc. etc. Located on the railroad tracks in the middle of historic Victorian Ashland, you can watch the freight and passenger trains on their way north and south. You will be welcomed and treated very well.+

As always the food was great. If you are in Ashland around lunch there is no better place to go. Never had a bad meal here in years.

The restaurant is just over the train tracks in town, just off 95. I stop here allot when traveling up and down 95 for work. There selection of quiches and salads are wonderful. The bakery selection is always fresh and tasty. When you go in you order your food in the back, get your desert and drink and then find a table to sit at. After your meal you clean your table and put your tray up. The only thing I wish the restaurant would do is clean there bathroom up, some fresh paint would help. I don't think restaurants know how important it is to keep the bathrooms up, it's a big turn off to go into a dirty bathroom, it makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is.

It's been a year since we ate here cuz we only do the I-95 schlep up/down once a year. It's as good as ever and that's saying a lot.
I love this place!
Everything is home made and delicious. 4-6 kinds of quiche, many kinds of salads and creative sandwiches + home made baked goodies and more...something for everybody.
Do not pass GO, do not Collect $200 go directly to Suzanne's and remember....you heard it here first.

Great food located adjacent (within 100 feet) to the CSX Railroad tracks. Custom made sandwiches and a large variety Quiche and my faviorite - Brunswick stew. Family friendly indoor and outdoor seating. So, if you are a train buff and are looking for a great place to take your family while engaging in your hobby - this is the place!!
