Description: Serving house-made foods for 35 years something like Gran made in her kitchen. Bread for sandwiches is baked every morning. Enjoy a turkey roll with sliced turkey roasted in our ovens and a country ham sandwich that was voted one of the best in Virginia by USA Today. The Crab Cake Sandwich is good too or you can enjoy the best-ever shrimp salad and tuna salad. Vernell bakes deep dish pies daily and the jumbo cookie case is full of selections. Lots of sides to choose from ~~ Branden's Potato Salad, Roslyn's spaghetti salad, cucumber & tomato, black-eyed pea vinaigrette, Christine's deviled eggs etc. etc. Located on the railroad tracks in the middle of historic Victorian Ashland, you can watch the freight and passenger trains on their way north and south. You will be welcomed and treated very well.+

“Very Southern”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

That yummy devilish food you know isn't good for you, but you simply must have another bite. Their traditional food is excellent and very rich. Very friendly staff!

“Great Bread & Desserts!”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

An Ashland landmark, Suzanne's has great homemade taste, a variety of entrees, great salads/sides & AWESOME Desserts! Seating is limited and the wait can sometimes be a hassle.

“little hidden treasure”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

A friend took me here.. parking is a bit tricky and once I did not eat here because I could not find a spot to park during busy lunch time. They make everything right there and you can watch them work. The way the food is done is a step up from the ordinary and they have so many everyday things to eat like sandwiches but also I got to try quiche for the first time (and loved it). It is near a christian college and I even saw it advertised as a must see while traveling on I-95 I highly recommend it.

“Highly overrated by locals”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

A friend that lives in the area swore by this place so I decided to try it. Once you get past the flies and bees in the line to order, the food is at best mediocre. Either locals love the place because it's a local business, or they simply have no taste buds. There are far better places to eat in Richmond and VCC that this so it hardly justifies the drive to the tiny town of Ashland which has absolutely nothing worth a day trip to see unless you like banks, hotels, and gas stations.
