Our stay here was only for one night. Our room seemed liked housekeeping had missed a few spots when cleaning. However, we simply asked for another room, and the receptionist unreservedly let us switch. Our new room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the layout of the room, especially how there was a water closet separate from the shower. The staff that we dealt with were all kind and professional. It was a very pleasant stay.

We stayed here for a softball tournament and it was a perfect hotel for us. Loved the hot/cold buffet breakfast. The lobby was very big and relaxing at night. We used the BBQ grill for dinner and the firepit for smores! Everyone had a great time. The pool is VERY small. It's a lap pool and couldn't fit many people at all. We didn't even bother to use it. The staff was very accommodating and friendly!

Room Tip: The 2nd floor is where the laundry room is. There's only 1 for the whole hotel.

Loved this hotel, the rooms were well kept and new. The only odd thing is no bathtub just and extra large shower so I don't know how families who are traveling with small children would make out. The lobby was actually very pretty with large curtained circular seating areas. Offered the typical happy hour in the evenings and the free breakfast was great. Waffels, oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, sausage, eggs, cereal, juice, coffee and milk. It made going out for breakfast totally unnessecary. Within easy driving distance of Leesburg and N. VA wine country which is what we were there for.

This was my second stay and this place is a favorite for me. For $78 on a weeknight, I had minimal amenities (the gym is small, the pool is tiny and for laps only, no restaurant/room service), however the luxury and interesting design of the rooms made up for it. The showers have additional heads which, make waking up very pleasant. Minifridges and microwaves complete with individually wrapped paper plates and forks are a nice touch. The desk and other Business-traveler friendly features make an extended stay like my last one convenient. Unfortunately Ashburn is a relatively boring suburb full of strip malls and grocery stores, but sometimes that is all you need - peace and quiet.

Our reason for looking for a hotel in this area was to stay near the Udvar-Hazy (Smithsonian) Air and Space Museum overnight during our trip back from Charlottesville, VA. We stayed here in July 2011. For some reason, it is harder to find reasonably-priced hotels that feature rooms with two queen beds, which is a tremendous benefit when traveling with two kids and two adults. Springhill Suites Ashburn Dulles North fit the bill.

This fairly new property is stylishly appointed and very clean with comfortable beds and modern decor. Our two-queen room featured swiveling flat screen TV that could be viewed either from the beds or in a small alcove that had a couch and desk. The room also came with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and blow dryer.

The property is close to Dulles Airport without being subject to air traffic noise.

The continental breakfast (included in room price) was excellent. The hotel has done a nice job of laying out the breakfast area so that it doesn't feel too crowded with too many people milling about while waiting to get food.

My room rate (on a Wednesday night) was just $78 total (with tax). It was a AAA/Marriott Rewards Club rate booked through Marriott.com. I found that to be an excellent value.

There was a lap pool and nice exercise area in the hotel, though we didn't have the opportunity to use either. We did use the hotel's WiFi to connect to the Internet via laptop, but we weren't browsing too intensely so I can't comment on the speed of the connection (as other reviewers have).

If there is one very slight complaint about this property it is that the air conditioning is a bit loud for such a new property. But since it was on all night (it is possible we didn't calibrate the thermostat properly to have it turn off automatically) it gets to be more like background noise than anything.

Room Tip: Go to Marriott.com and find out the AAA rate (you may need to present your card on check-in).
