Days Inn Arlington Pentagon
Ranked #48 of 52 Hotels in Arlington
Reviewed August 2, 2011

We spent 2 nights in Arlington at this hotel so that we could see the sights around DC easily, and also make a short trip to Baltimore for the Aquarium. This hotel isn't the newest, but for the price and for being less than 10 minutes from downtown DC and all the area attractions, it was a great deal.

The front desk was VERY helpful, friendly, I called several times confirming the room reservations, and each time the gentleman I spoke to was more than happy to answer my questions. Check In and Out was also quick and efficient.

Room itself was what I asked for in reservation, 1 bed with pull out sofa and kitchenette. We had a toddler with us and the kitchenette/pull out bed was the main reason we settled on this hotel. Everything was clean and worked. Could not find a listing for TV shows, but managed to find shows for toddler without much effort (and really, who needs that much TV on vacation anyways?). Had no issues with noise, or rude neighbors. We were on the back wing of the property, and always had plenty of parking right outside our room. It was actually nice to not be on the front section and have to listen to the main road traffic.

Surrounding area maybe was not the overall best, but we never felt like anything was unsafe or that our belongings were threatened. Gas station across the street has a Dunkin Doughnuts/Baskin Robbins attached to it, which was a great success for breakfast and snacks. McDonalds, Subway, and 7-11 are also on the other side of the street, very conveinient. Lots of local area food right down the street also.

Overall, would definitely go back, and have started planning a second trip with full intentions to use this hotel again.

Stayed here for three nights, we were at the side of the hotel and it was very quite. Transport to Wasington is very easy , bus outside hotel takes you to the metro station.
Although on a Sunday parking is free in Wasington.

We stayed 4 nights @ this hotel on the 4th of July and although the hotel itself is very old, dilapidated and in need of a thorough re-model, you can't beat the price, under $90 and the location. Rossyln Metro was 6 blocks away. This location allowed us to drive or take the metro into DC without problem every day. The staff was VERY friendly and courteous and did their best to help everyone. However, that said, the breakfast was cheap and minimal, the rooms old, dingy and tawdry. The bath looked like a child added the white sealant, but hey for the amount of $, it was okay and that is why I'm giving it 4 stars because truly the location and price cannot be beaten!

Room Tip: Excellent value and locaiton

Thanks God we only stayed there for two nights. The guy at the front desk was really nice but the room was awful. There was a smell of cigarettes, the carpet looked dirty and so was the bathroom. We had the choice to go to our room by elevator or the stairs, sometimes we used the stairs which was right beside the garbage and you were able to see all dirty things from the hotel in the garbage. We didn't have any lock after our door, the walls are so thin, at 11:00 PM we all felt asleep and we heard the baby crying next door to us and I swear to you it was if the baby was really in our same room. Breakfast was correct with doughnut, breads, bagels. Also the neighborhood doesn't look pretty safe, we came back one day from our day in Washington and there's was two drunk guys in front of the store asking questions to everyone. The McDonald's right in front of the hotel is the dirtiest McDonald I ever went it. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is what it is. Its so much cheaper than any others but isn't that near to Washington sights and is quite dirty and run down. Its more like a motel and is really quite a low class hotel. The gym was awful, had no weights and 2 running machines. If you want to save money and don't care where you stay, this is good. But maybe next time i'll fork out a few more bucks to stay somewhere nicer. P.S its free internet but its so slow and never connects so don't go there expecting it to work.

Very easy transport to DC by Bus 16G and Pentagon City train. We spent most of our time enjoying beautiful Washington DC, so only came back late each night just to sleep. If that's all you need, this is an economically good choice. The motel room itself is what you would expect for a cheap place, however the beds were OK and the place was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep.

Room was a bit smelly, and the air conditioner vents were caked with years of dirt and dust. We decided to clean it ourselves to make the place liveable.
The bathroom was horrible and old, but functional.
There is No Room Safe to store your valuables. Old type CRT TV in rooms.
There is a mini fridge and microwave, but we did not use these. The less time spent in the rooms, the better.
I tried the free breakfast, but it was terrible on that morning when I went - stale bagels and lukewarm coffee. Anyhow, no big deal, I just ignored it the following days, and made my own arrangements.
The free WiFi internet works very well.

If you are flying into to Reagan DCA airport, it is a short & cheap trip by Taxi to the motel.
Across the road is McDonalds and Subway for cheap food, as well as seven eleven.

Don't expect a luxury hotel, this is just a low budget place to sleep and convenient location close to DC and DCA airport, as well as Arlington Pentagon City (Shopping Mall and large food court), not forgetting Arlington Cemetery. All these places can be easily and cheaply reached by public transit. If you do have a car, there is free parking in the motel parking lot.

Room Tip: Motel has elevator - no problem for baggage
