The hotel was a supreme dissapointment. I can see why it is so affordable; quality was questionable. The breakfast was run by a confusing person (english was definately not a first language). The breakfast food was definately below par (I'm guessing they mass purchase cereal years in advance, the horde it in the basement), especially for the quality I expected from a Best Western. And again with the breakfast attendant lady, "you have ticket?" What is a breakfast ticket. Really best western, I was expecting a better hotel. I recomend a different hotel. The floor was filthy, wall paper peeling, crap in toilet, no literally, human crap.(JK) Gunk in shower, The picture of george washington freaked me out. This hotel needs a makeover, extreme makeover. Don't stay here

The hotel has everything you need if you're going to DC to see the sights.

Benefits:
+ You don't have to pay for parking at this hotel
+ The shuttle to the Metro runs all day, and leaves you right in front of the Metro entrance
+ The beds are comfortable
+ The breakfast options for a continental breakfast are wider than most budget hotels (hardboiled eggs, waffles, bagles, donuts, coffee, juice, cereal, fruits)
+ The staff was friendly and helpful
+ Wireless internet in rooms
+ In general, nothing to complain about.

My husband and I went to DC for the first time and didn't know what to expect. Considering we were up and out at 8am, and came back until 10 pm every day, you don't really need much from the hotel except a place to crash, and eat in the morning.

The parking/transportation was the biggest plus to us- we thought we were going to have to drive to a Metro parking to take the Metro, but were pleasantly surprised to find how convenient this hotel's service was.

We were hesitent after reading the reviews here, but were VERY PLEASED to see that we made the right choice by staying at the Best Western Pentagon- we saved a substantial amount of money, and everything was comfortable.

Don't let stories of ants, weird smells, etc. scare you- if you're afraid of being smacked in the face with weird smells (our room smelled fine), just being room deoderizer.

Get off your high horse people, this hotel has all you really need, if you're looking for a no frills place to stay (and if you're out and about, why do you need the frills anyway?).

Unless you get the deal of a lifetime or wish to spend $300+/night, you're probably not going to stay in a hotel located 2 blocks from the White House. BW Pentagon is located on the corner of Glebe Rd and 395, offering free shuttle service on the hour to and from Pentagon City mall/metro station and also on to Reagan Airport. They've always allowed us to check in early (like 9am), free continental breakfast (better than most), free in-room internet, coin laundry on site, has its own Arlington Police night security, will hold your bags in the back room if your room is not ready or you want to check out and come back later for your flight, and also has a gift shop. The hotel is older and you have your usual attributes of an older hotel like a door that you have to slam to shut or a remote where the volume down button sticks but other than that, everything is above average for the prices that we paid. The room was incredibly clean (or as clean as an older room could possibly be) and all bedding/lighting/plumbing/technological systems were running fine. Part of your experience in the nation's capital should begin with your transporation options or lack thereof. The Metro rail is the best possible way to travel Washington if you don't have a car. The shuttle service (a big white van/bus) picks everyone up in front of the lobby on top of each hour and in 5 mins, you're at the Pentagon City mall and down to the subway which from there is about 10 mins into downtown Washington. It's nice to give the driver a couple bucks each time as a tip but other than that, it's totally free and best of all, you don't have to pay $20 for parking!!

This is our 2nd time staying here and have found it to be the best "economic" choice for traveling to DC. We've stayed here in the springtime each time paying no more than $75/night (online prices, look around them all) and have been totally satisfied. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially to people/friends/families who simply want to spend time seeing the sights/shopping and aren't particularly interested in spending a lot of time at the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to those people who wish to spend a lot of time at the hotel.

I cannot even express the true extent of my disappointment, frustration, and disgust with this hotel. My first morning there I found that there was no hot water. I called to the front desk and was told to "just let it run" and that the hot water should come on. Nope. Instead I had to take a cold shower. In the middle of winter. On the east coast.

When I checked out the person at the desk said they weren't authorized to handle my complaint so I called back and was offered a 15% discount for that night. After repeated hassling, the highest they would go was 25%. I spoke to one manager, and asked for his supervisor when I was dissatisfied with his offer. When I spoke to that manager, he actually tried to deny that there had been a problem! I was infuriated by his attempt to lie to my face--but he refused to give me more than a 25% discount. So be warned--this hotel does not consider hot water (in the winter!) a basic necessity for its customers. Terrible customer service, terrible management, overall terrible experience.

The rooms were clean, front desk was very helpful. The free breakfast was ok, the women that put out the food was a little clueless and not too friendly. But overall it was a good stay and I would stay there again. Easy on and easy off the highway.

My room was on the second floor of an outside building. It was clean and in good condition. It was large, and eveything worked. The breakfast, which opened at 6:30, had lots of items, including fresh fruit, waffles, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, muffins, toast, coffee, and cereal. There was a shuttle from the hotel to the airport and the metro, which ran on the hour, and on the half hour during busy times. They had a couple of computers available in a room off the lobby, for people to check e-mail, the weather, etc.. There didn't seem to be any restaurants nearby, other than at the Comfort Inn across the parking lot, but the food there was ok and the staff seemed genuinely pleased to have customers. The prices were fair.

The motel was expensive, but probably not inappropriately so for the area. I would stay there again.
