The quarterdeck is a surprising find on a side street near Ft. Myer. A neighborhood spot where people come for simple food and delicious, steamed blue crabs! We like this place a lot!

“More please!”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

This restaurant was a "hole-in-the-wall" type and it lived up to the reputation that "hole-in-the-walls" have... It was great!
Service was great! She was informative, and friendly (while she was extremely busy).
We had mussels, lobster, fried oysters... Mmmmmm!!! Very nummy!
We really wanted to do the crab-feed but we weren't hungry enough :(
I really recommend trying out this place! We are a family with an age range of 50-16 and we all enjoyed our meals and the service!!

“CRABS!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We had a great 4th July meal at the Quarterdeck, complete with a view of the fireworks! I had never had crabs before, but we had a great time - its messy, but super fun and the crabs were tasty! Be sure to drink enough water - the Old Bay seasoning really makes you thirsty!

“Drive a Mile Further to the Seafood Market”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Where to start.

We were there for a large group event. Don't ever plan a large group event here it's simply not built for it.

First they tried to cram us into the corner of a patio that had no covering. Then, when rain threatened they hastily moved us into the basement. No AC. Chairs had water on them so old there was slime on each one. The TV's in the corners got fuzzy with the rain so no one could watch the game that was on.

Service - they assigned one server to our entire party - there were close to 30 people total. It was slow to say the least. People were drinking water out of the 2 oz plastic cups they brought for the butter for crab because while they brought us water pitchers, no glasses. Refills were non-existent and bar service made me want to give up.

Food - Crabs were overcooked, over seasoned and second quality. Of the 3 crabs I got from the dozen we ordered one had no claws and 2 had only one claw. This repeated with others at other tables. I like Old Bay, but they were simply covered in the stuff - it looked like the crabs had just walked out of the sand - covered. Other food was equally forgettable - slaw that was soup, a cab pretzel so covered in cheese you couldn't taste the crab and fries that clearly came from a frozen box. The Onion Rings were top notch, I will say.

I'm all for quaint old places that have been around forever, but sometimes they have clearly passed their prime. Quarterdeck is one of them - never again.

“The Crabs Yummy”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

The food was great. Best Margarita's I have had for a while. The staff were friendly and efficient. My teenage son loved the steak and cheese sandwiche. Me-the bucket of crabs, crab cakes, crab stuffed mushrooms, etc.
