Walked past this gem of a restaurant on our first walk through of Village at Shirlington and made it a point to return within a few days. We then were treated to a fabulous meal. We ate a selection of four cheeses, which rotate weekly, on one of their 'boards', complete with all of the appropriate accompaniments. The wife also had a peach fizzy drink, which was so-so - it needed more peach for the punch. We then moved on to the main course, which in my case was a delicious vegetarian sandwich that the waiter recommended I request grilled in panini style. I did and it was fantastic. The cheese was perfectly matched to the vegetables, which were ripe and crunchy and nicely offset by the gooeyness of the cheese, which was overflowing. No skimping here. I also had a side of the potato salad, which was not creamy but instead made with vinegar and mustard powder, as well as a side of their rosemary kettle chips, also excellent. The wife then had the gluten free mac and cheese, which again was extremely cheesy and pretty good for gluten free pasta. We had no room for dessert, but the (included) cup of dark chocolate chips was a wonderful end and a great palate cleanser. We did not buy any cheese, but we will next time! We will also return for the brunch and the advertised pitcher of mimosa.
