Owner description: The AF Memorial was dedicated on October 14, 2006 to honor the men and women of the AF and its heritage organizations. It is located in Arlington, Virginia, adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. Since its opening, it has been a place of honor and remembrance. It offers a place for the community to learn and appreciate the rich history of the AF through displays, AF Band performances, Memorial/Veterans Day commemorations and veteran-related events.

Being an Air Force retiree it was good to see this place up close and reflect on all the Airmen that came before me that made it possible for us to be a part of the U.S. Air Force. Aim High

I am a USAF vet, but think this barren flat of marble is a cold, impersonal flop at trying to honor the people who have made the USAF great. My kids call it the giant cockroach from a distance, since it looks like the feelers of a mutant insect thrusting over a Virginia parking lot...

large monument perhaps better seen from far off
if go up to the plateau there see some lists of names and get some more information about the fallen flyer formation

It's actually kind of odd. Once you see and get it - then it kinda makes sense. But over all - underwhelmed. I would never disparage those that have gone before us and defended our country but not sure this does it. The old Army Air Corps and the enlisted ranks are kinda left behind in this memorial.

It's a small memorial, but packed with plenty of history. No aircraft here, but there are reliefs and other attractions to see.
