Owner description: The AF Memorial was dedicated on October 14, 2006 to honor the men and women of the AF and its heritage organizations. It is located in Arlington, Virginia, adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. Since its opening, it has been a place of honor and remembrance. It offers a place for the community to learn and appreciate the rich history of the AF through displays, AF Band performances, Memorial/Veterans Day commemorations and veteran-related events.

A great tribute to honor those men and women who have served in the Air Force. Great views of the DC skyline also

Because you are so close to the Pentagon, the security staff is vigilant in not allowing you to take pictures of that structure. The memorial is visible from Arlington National Cemetery and much of the DC Mall.

It is nicely done with an honor guard of bronze watching over the grounds. The dead are honored as well.

This memorial is located in a rather hard to get to location - I think the Air Force deserved a better location for the memorial.

The abstract rendering of the contrails of the "missing man" formation either tug at your patriotism, or leave you cold. The Air Force is the most modern of the services, and it's memorial has a very modern design. It is not for everyone.

You know you are getting close to the district when the Air Force Memorial comes into view on I-95 in Northern Virginia.
