What you will find will change your thoughts on this sky piercing monument. At the foot of the sphere you will find what you are looking for as a tribute to the USAF.

My father-in-law was Air Force, so we've been a number of times. This location isn't the easiest to find, but it's well worth it (and you can see it from a great distance, so you'll know if you're heading in the right direction). Parking is available, though you've got to cross a road to get to the monument. Views of the city are spectacular from this elevated vantage place. There's not a lot here, but it is a wonderful memorial and it gives a good sense of the Air Force history.

A pleasant activity for anyone staying nera Dupont. Many of the embassies are incredible buildings.

The theme of the memorial is fighter centric. Bombers have a more robust history and casualties. Too bad the design was picked by Generals who all came up as fighter pilots.

I loved the concpt, it's a good solid memorial to our Air Force, it's best seen in the dawn or dusk.
