This is my local "go to" place for italian food. You have to try the Lasagna! It is huge and so good! Took 2 people to finish. they have a great happy hour too with a good selection of wines and appetizers to try.

Extra Virgin is a local restaurant in the Shirlington Village. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and profesional and it has a very nice, moderately priced wine menu. Depending on the musicians, the musical entertainemnt can be a bit loud, but on other occasions we found the entertainment fit the atmosphere quite well. Well worth a visit if you're in the Arlington, Pentagon City or West End of Alexandria.

Visited several times, including New Year's eve. Nice live music and atmosphere. Had lunch there with mother's seniors group and they all enjoyed the food and location in Shirlington.

The food and service at Extra Virgin is stellar! You won't be disappointed in either. The menu offers something for everyone - no matter what you're craving - they have it covered - and it was the best meal we had on our trip! Cibo delizioso!

I've been to this restaurant twice in the past month and have really enjoyed the food. Highly recommend the stuffed dates appetizer. The swordfish special was outstanding. The wait staff was good, friendly, but later in the meal they were not as attentive as they needed to be. The sad part was the live music. The first evening I dined here there was no live music and my friend and I had a truly delightful experience. That's why we returned with our husbands so soon thereafter. The live band drowned out completely our conversation and we were in a separate room! It made the latter part of our meal unbearable and we could not wait to finish and leave. I may return but I'll check first to make sure I can hear my meal companions.
