We originally had reservations at another establishment and had to vacate after one night which left us scrambling for someplace in DC on short notice. We happened upon Best Western Iwo Jima, stopped and inquired about rates. We found, not only reasonable rates for summer in DC but , a very friendly and accommodating front desk staff. We were able to check in at 10 am. The room was a standard king room with refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. Very clean. Coffee service and fruit are available in the morning. I would love to see an upgraded coffee. Not horrible, but not great either.
The property has a decent restaurant on site, a nice amenity after a long hot day of sight seeing and sore feet. There is a pool with an attendant. The bed was very comfortable. In addition, the property is convenient to the Metro, which you will want to use as your source of transportation. Traffic and parking fees make a car a deficit.

As always, you know your own travel preferences. If you are looking for high end accommodations, look elsewhere. If you want a clean, basic room at a good rate with a few perks, then book now.

Stayed here for a quick night because we got to DC a day early. We booked online and the pictures they show did not match up with our room. Our room was in the older motel looking part. The bathroom was run down looking, tile chipped, the toilet ran most the night, and the whole place looked run down. The bed also needed to be changed out, we sunk into the middle of the bed and couldn't comfortable. The staff was hospitable and the parking was free, those were good things. But there are other hotels in the area and I wish I would have booked one of them.

The location is great to get to the subway. The hotel is in good shape, with an excellent restaurant (awesome low prices!). We requested a 1st floor room, and stayed here twice, and got a 2nd floor room without an elevator. The staff refused to change it. It was noisy at night with many kids staying here, but the staff quieted them down, when asked.

Poor overall appearace of the building, esposed wires in outside hallways, peeling paint and sagging dry wall. The shower curtain was missing in our room, the tub was not draining proprly and the water was about 2 to3 inches high while showering..I think that was a fall risk and unsanitary. There was not a breakfast like anyother Best Western offeres only coffee , tea ans some apples ...during the weeken there were no apples. We had to leave the hotel area just to have a quick breakfast Too much noise there was a large group of guests using the meeting room , they gathered in the ouside hallway to smoke ,talk loudly this was only a few feet from our room.

I guess having a car spoils you in that you can spend the night some distance from the city centre and enjoy a bit of peace and space.
This one is not relaxing with its basement parking and busy surrounds.,
Breakfast not included in price.
Had a pizza at Ledo's next door and it was the worst pizza I have had for a long time.
Such a pain getting into the place that we could not bring ourselves to go out and eat.
Bed was comfortable and room was fine - no issues at all there just the inner city type feel to the place is not my bag.
We came to Washington for 3 nights but moved out after one night to a motel located 20 mins out of town.
