“Best Pizza in Old Town Alexandria”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

As a long-time customer of Monterey's Pizza, I believe that they prepare and deliver the best pizza in Old Town Alexandria. The pizza crust is fully cooked and has a good bite to it; and the pizzas are prepared with fresh ingredients. (no trailer trucks pulling-up to Monterey's delivering frozen food.) If you're adventurous, try one of the Gourmet Pizza's offered: they are creative and a delight to eat. (A favourite of mine is the Old Town Chicken, prepared with fresh chicken breast, feta cheese, broccoli, and olive oil.) And, delivery is timely.

An important consideration: unlike the national chains that deliver in the area, Monterey's does NOT charge a deliver fee. (Come-on national chains; you're in the pizza DELIVERY business; charging a delivery fee makes you worse than the airlines.)

“Just ordered pizza with a side of liquid crust”
Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Just ordered a well done pizza with fresh mozzarella, goat cheese and pepperoni. The crust is so soggy I gave up. I'm still starving. On a positive note the pizza arrived quickly. Yikes I'm so hungry but I can't enjoy this.

“Great pizza, fresh ingredients, local flavor”
Reviewed September 8, 2012 via mobile

Ignore the chains and go to or order from this great pizza slinging delivery joint. With dozens of gourmet specialty pizzas, fresh and abundant toppings, thin and regular crust, Montereys is The Bomb. Pretty quick delivery. Never had a bad pie from here. Andale!!!

“Yummy Pizza”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

Monterey's is really yummy pizza. Its good thick crust delivery, and the Route 1 special is phenomenal. Its not thin crust, but is good value delicious food and their sides and salads are better than average also.

“Nothing I Got Was Good”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

I ordered delivery to my house nearby. The pizza was soggy and poorly made. It was "warm" but certainly not hot. The buffalo wings were horrible. Soggy and cold and the skin was soft/baked on having been friend to be crispy. The salad had brown lettuce in it and the dressing was suppose to be Italian, but it had a funny taste. I didn't use it. The delivery took about 45 minutes. We have used them before and keep hoping they will improve but so far over 5 years they haven't. We will stick to Domino's or Quattro Fromaggio.
