“Hidden Sushi Gem”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Coming back from Mount Vernon, my wife and I were in the mood for a snack before dinner at home with our friends. We wanted Sushi and trip advisor has not failed us to date. We happened to be close to Momo Sushi Café. We ordered two rolls and they were Excellent. We wanted to order more but we know we would have dinner in a while. It was so good that we stay one more night in the DC area and on our way out town we placed a full order of Sushi to go and again it was Excellent.

This place is tiny… Tiny… TINY! You definitely need reservations (I am not sure if they take reservations) or place a to go order (like we did) otherwise you will have to wait.

The owner was very accommodating and when she found out we were waiting outside parked in a car with our sleeping son, she push the order through quickly.

“Call it a rice cafe instead of a sushi cafe and everything would fall into place”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

This review is concentrated on food only and does not reflect on service or atmosphere. The food can be described by one word - rice. Ordering sushi rolls there is like ordering many colors and flavors of rice. It was heavily dominating ingredient in the rolls that were ordered and that were their priciest rolls. The prices themselves are not lower than in any other local sushi places which actually add fish to the dishes. Additionally, too many rolls on the menu contain artificial "crab meat" (no crabs had been harmed during its production). Overall it looked like profit making built on food quality sacrifice.

“Enjoy this one! A little jewel on Queen St in Alexandria.”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

A little jewel on Queen St in Alexandria. Very good sushi. The sashimi was fresh and we had a couple of exceptional rolls. Add a decent bottle of inexpensive wine and it makes for a very enjoyable experience! Don't expect a fancy decor, just really good sushi.
