Description: Paradiso Ristorante has been part of Alexandria's culture for over 20 years. We have had the pleasure of cooking for thousands of friends and families over the years and hope to continue the tradition for a long time to come. We are a family run restaurant and enjoy cooking recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. The unique services and meals Paradiso provides are the pillars to the restaurants success. Tony and Julia Amato have been passionate about providing the community with an extraordinary Italian meal and a one of a kind dining experience. With services like their Supervised Children's Dining Area, their reputable and astounding Sunday Brunch, professional Catering services and a Lounge that features live bands with no cover charge, it's not hard to believe they have clients who have been dining with them for the 20+ years they've been open. From the staff to the exceptional decor, Paradiso is a restaurant for everyone. Ourdining room setting always feels serene no matter how crowded it gets. The design is eclectic and comfortable, with an air of elegance. Partitioned into a few small rooms, the place provides a homey atmosphere no matter where you sit. Paradiso's interior - natural barn wood, stain glass windows, portraits, topical paintings and posters, elegant mirrors and soft lighting - is an appropriate one for an Italian restaurant whose food is extraordinarily delicious. If you've dined with us recently, we hope to see you again soon! If you've never dined with us before, come give us a try! We guarantee you leave with a satisfied belly and a smile on your face...It's the only way to leave an Italian kitchen. From our family to yours...Buon Appetito!

“Best Pizza in DC”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

That's what the button on the server's shirt said, and the shirt did not lie. A shorter menu that normal at an upscale pizzaria is an advantage her as each is a delight. Fresh ingredients and great service round out a great night out.

“not great but not bad”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

I have eaten here a few times for the brunch and for their regular menu. The photos on their website are more dreamy than the selection I have seen. For brunch, some of the selection is quite good (bruchetta, stuffed shells, pizza, special ordered pasta) but other stuff is chewy (chicken) or stale (cake). The food is not bad but not superb. The decor is basic. Whenever I have been the service has been quite slow. There is a kid's room that I know a lot of parent's like.

“More than meets the eye from outside.....”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

My wife and I have been going here for years. It has suprisingly good Italian food. They in the last couple of years have added a wood fire grill for hand made pizza which was built where the some tables used to be back in the day. My wife got one of those pizza's last night for dinner after talking about getting one for quite awhile. She is from new Jersey so knows her Pizza. It was nothing to write home to mom about. For those interested in the pizza portions at Paradiso, you should go somewhere else like Johnnys (best pizza in the area I think) down on Buelah.

With that being said. I have always enjoyed their Italian dishes. It's almost a lil nook since many locals know that this place exisists and that is why they go there. The locals in this area are VERY loyal to the great establishments of this area I have seen first hand. As you drive by you would not expect that from the looks of the outside what good Italian food lies within. I have always enjoyed their clams in white sauce and linguini. Usually my go to dish. The dish has very healthy helpings of clams for sure! I really like their house tomato sauce and usually get a side to dip their very good bread that comes with the meal. My wife has enjoyed the many dishes she has had in the past. I am a creature of habit and stick with the seafood dishes which taste very fresh and filling.

There are two sides to this place. The Italian dining side as well as the side with a bar where they may have live entertainment as well as karaoke. The dining area is a quiet intimate area. The waiters have always been great to us, very professional and their customer service has always been spot on! There is also have a seperate area for families that have some things for the kids while the adults chat.that allows children to hangout together...... We have never really been in there for the night life but it seems to always have plenty of people haveing a great time. Knock yourself out give it a whirl. I would say by the looks 40-50ish age group frequents the bar side. They also have quite a Sunday brunch in this area on Sunday mornings. We have been once. Tons of food and a bit pricey but they really do it up.

Sum it up. Give it a try cause maybe had you would not have until you read some of these reviews? Just remember better places for pizza but the Italian dishes are what makes this place unique! Give it a shot!

“Great place for families”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

We enjoyed our dinner here -- grownups had pasta entrees and our teens had pizza. The menu had good variety. The food was very good and attentive service. We were a bit wedged in at a table for 4 that was backed up against a divider -- we'd asked for a different location next time. As we arrived there was a band setting up (Beatles cover band) in the bar so the bar was very crowded--they sounded very good as we were leaving the restaurant. A good mix of ages in the crowd. Some place for us 50-somethings to go every now and then for a drink and live music.

“Great family restaurant with a kids room!”
Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

We love coming here for the child room and the great food. They make one of the best marinara sauces. The kids room is unlike anything else you will find. They wait on your child and you can sit close enough to still have a great adult dinner out. They have a disney kids video on all the time. The new brick oven pizza is great. If there is something you want not on the menu that will make it for you.
