Proper homestyle Southern food. Even though it's in the heart of Occupied Virginia - Southside manages to keep up the very best of Southern food. At least, the way I remember it as a child. The service is good, and the portions are enormous. It's pretty inexpensive, too - by our local standards. Expect to cough up $35 for dinner for two, without dessert or drinks.

Accessibility is a problem as it's an older building. The front entrance takes you through the bar which is always loud, narrow and dark. It's two steps down into the restaurant. Restrooms are on the other side of the bar.
