Description: Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, the Warehouse is one of the area's most popular restaurants specializing in prime aged steaks and fresh seafood. The superb food is served in a casual but elegant atmosphere that features caricatures of the local gentry on the walls of the historic building. Enjoy their Steak "Pontchartrain" or their famous all-lump crab cakes. Don't miss their very popular Sunday brunch. Enjoy a drink at their antique mahogany bar.

Enjoyed a nice brunch overlooking Old Town. A little pricey for what is a pretty ordinary brunch. My son enjoyed a Crab Cake sandwich and I just had eggs. There were some more extravagant options on the menu that we saw at other tables that looked very good. Our server was not the best, but other tables with other servers were well attended.

For dinner, the seafood platter had such great abundance that I never bothered to eat the vegetables served with the meal. Atmosphere felt cozy event though the restaurant was packed. Service was good. Went back the next day for brunch - they allowed me to order the steak which was on the dinner menu and still served it with the pink champagne as comes with the brunch at a brunch price. Very nice!

Our youngest son lives in Old Town Alexandria, and this is his mainstay -- basically first, second, and third choice. From my perspective, it is a little bit pricey, and a little "worn", but otherwise the food and service are excellent to outstanding. I'd rate the restaurant a very picky 4.3 out of 5.0.

Pros include location -- the center of Old Town -- and a solid menu list, featuring several Nawlins favorites of ours. The dinner menu features several specialty sandwiches, but that is probably not why you would eat here -- if that is your desire, come for lunch instead.

The She Crab Soup is hands down the best I have ever had. I also recommend the Crawfish & Shrimp Beignets if you are looking for a tasty appetizer. The Baby Spinach, Gorgonzola & Spicy Glazed Pecans salad is a nice choice if you prefer to go light.

The Louisiana Crawfish Etouffée is one of my favorites, as is the Pasta Jambalaya. Though I have yet to try everything on the menu, I have yet to be disappointed by any of the choices. The portions size, the preparation and presentation, are what you would expect from this class of restaurant.

They also offer a Saturday and Sunday brunch.

There is ample seating including an upstairs dining area (which we have used for larger groups). The ambiance is nothing too fancy, but suitably 'dress casual".

We wandered in without a reservation because it was very cold and we didn't want to walk further. The place looked crowded yet upstairs there was a whole other room virtually empty, where we were pleased to be installed. The waiter was very friendly and we got off on a nice note. We brought our own wine, which replicated one they offered as well but we needed to consume it before traveling. All that was fine, but the bill charged $25 for corkage, which was extravagant. The food was nice, but as the other reviewers have noted, too expensive for what it is ($230 for 3 with 2 courses). Next time, we will walk a little further on in the cold.

Food was OK, somewhat pricey though. Atmosphere was OK...looked nicer from outside than once we were actually seated. Lots of choices in area
