We stopped in for lunch based on the outside menu and we were pleasantly surprised. The Scalappini Di Vitello Landini's veal was seasoned perfectly with enjoyable fresh mushrooms.
The sauce was light and didn't overpower the delicate veal. The vegetables (asparagus and beans) could have been skipped...both were overcooked and only added color to the dish not taste.

The Agnolotti Alla Florentina was exceptional. The ravioli dough was light, filling sufficient and the sauce with a hint of nutmeg was "I want to pick up my plate and lap it up" good!

We ended our meal sharing the home made Tiramisu.....don't miss it. The dessert was melt in your mouth texture, well seasoned and the perfect ending for an excellent meal.

Thanks to our Washingtonian Coz we were taken to a favourite eatery.
Downtown Alexandria is a buzzing "Upscale" town, full of smart shops and restaurants.Lunch at Landini Brothers was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle and also the heat.Adjust your eyes if you go inside on a sunny day. The decor is dark with wooden beams and large classic prints.
The Gazpacho had a secret ingredient which gave it a surprising zing that I've never tasted in Andalusia. Delicious - eat slowly.
The home made pasta and sauces were simply prepared and full of flavour.
Later, whilst wandering passed the many art galleries we saw paintings of Mr.Landini, said restaurant's owner. He must be a local celebrity and a richly deserved status for a thriving and individual establishment.

As usual I trusted the Trip Advisor review crew and was rewarded.
Very nice ambiance for my wife, our 10 year old grandson and myself.
Very versatile - family or romantic evenings seemingly can coexist.
Menu was diverse and our grandson asked for chicken Parmesan which was not on the menu and enjoyed it immensely!

My wife and I each had a veal dish - both excellent. The wine list afforded a very reasonable selection of reasonable price points for both bottle and wine by the glass. The service was both friendly and efficient. Visiting from California will make a return to Landini's a challenge but we certainly will make it a priority when we get back to the area.

We had our dinner there on a Friday night, our second time eating there. They gave us a table upstairs. The room was very dark that I had to use my cell phone light to read the menu. The veal was okay but certainly not any better than other decent Italian restaurants. The seafood linguine was quite good. The mussels and clams in white sauce were tiny in size and extremely salty. The ravioli tasted good but there were only 7 tiny pieces in a creamy sauce. Not even enough portion as an appetizer. Had to ask the waiter to refill water and bread. Everything else such as side pasta, veggi, potato, is a la carte on top of the pricey main entree. Of course we left semi-hungry and went to another place for desserts. The overall menu was on the pricey side for similar food and settings compared to other good restaurants on King Street. There are many better choices in the area. Will not go back. Food quality=2.5. Service=1.5. Price=2.

The Lane family favors Landini Bros. Italian restaurant, just down from The Wharf, for many of their Christmas parties/dinners. Always upstairs in the private dining room, warm atmosphere, lovely table settings and excellent food enjoyed by all the Werner's and Lane's.
