“Unassuming quality”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Hoffman Center gem. Low prices for quality food and quiet ambiance. Great mussels and French Onion soup. Easy parking nights and weekends without the crowds of Oldtown .

“Outstanding service”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

The service at Yve's Bistro is helpful and friendly without being the least bit intrusive. My dining companion and I shared two appetizers-the roasted brie and duck terrine. Both were outstanding. My dinner, the salmon which was featured that day, was prepared perfectly. This hidden gem is in the Hoffman Center and easy to miss driving by, but it is worth a visit.

“French Comfort Food with a comfortable atmosphere”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

We went to this restaurant with a Groupon last night to try out a new place for kicks and we will definitely be back! We had the Baked Brie to start, delicious....and both had the French Onion Soup with hot fresh French rolls and butter. For dinner I had the steak sandwich which was cooked to my specifications, medium rare and was delicious and came with "Frites". The star of the dinner was my husband's meal - Lamb Curry Stew over Rice. We will go back JUST to get that meal over and over - it's that good. The lamb is tender and sweet, and the stew is flavorful and has plantains in the stew as well. So gooood!

We were happy to meet "Yves" as well - he was the older French gentleman who was our server. We so full at the end of dinner that we took half the Lamb Curry home and were looking longingly at the delicious-looking desserts that kept passing us to other tables. Next time we will have to save room and get dessert. Our total bill for everything would have been $48. Good value for all the food and very good quality of food. Everyone else in the place for their main dish was ordering the Maine Lobster which was only $16 - it seemed very popular and we spoke to some other happy people who come back repeatedly for the Lobster dish.

It's in walking distance of the USPTO office and right next to the AMC movie theater. Seems like it will be a future date night (Yves Bistro + movie) in the future for us.

“Pleasantly suprised”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

We enjoyed the Maine lobster dish on special for $16. The service was attentive; prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is very convenient to metro: across the street from the Eisenhower station. We would recommend giving them a try.

“Not the best experience”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

We went to this restaurant on Valentines Day - very early evening at about 5:30 or 6 pm. It was not very busy yet. We were seated and I cannot recall the name of our server but he was a tall older gentlman with graying hair. He had a snobby attitude, which unfortunately ruined our meal.

We waited way to long for our entrees; but while waiting we watched as three different "groups"s of customers were told that their online restaurant discount certificates were not valid on Valentines Day. All argued that the certificate did not say there were any exclusions pertaining to holidays (which is true because I also had a coupon but had forgotten about it and had left it in the car).

The owner or manager got into one heated discussion with one couple who said they would never return. One other couple left and another just went ahead and ordered. Poor management decision if you ask me. Too many other customers watching this go on.

The food was just okay. I think I had high expectations from the reviews. I think all in all it was fine except for our server who we could never find, and who just had a real attitude.

We have not been back, unfortunately - even though it could have become a weekly dinner spot.
