There is another Irish place across the way that a famous traveler tells folks to haunt, don't waste your time.
That place was dead on a Saturday Night at 8pm. Murphy's was GRAND! Packed full of folks, bar and table alike. There is an upstairs I have yet to explore.
The fish and chips: great, a thick chunk of cod, not overly breaded yet still holds the cider when you pour. I can take or leave the potatoes, nothing wrong with them but I just didn't need them.
The Irish Egg Rolls: The concept here is great, cabbage and corned in a fried roll. Where they missed is the sauce, someone is thinking that a sweet asian bbq style sauce is going to offset the vinegar of the cabage. Better skip the sauce until they take the worlds advice and either serve a horseradish or brown mustard dip with it.
The Shrimp: we've been having great luck with shrimp this trip. This is a great starter and you'll need more than one order if you're more than a couple. It's 4 shrimp. Done perfectly though.
Many a night there is music, and we had a great couple of sing alongs, from Irish Rover to Whiskey In A Jar.
Finally, someone has an eye for a Buxom Lass, as most if not all of the servers would fit this description. A dark Irish Pub, creamy head on a pint and the smiling eyes of Haley made for a great evening.
