Description: Opened in 1998 in the West End of historic Alexandria, Virginia, Clyde's at Mark Center is a vivid celebration of sporting life on the water. Thirty-five years after Clyde's opened in Georgetown, this property showcases our evolution from restaurants to full-scale atmospheres. From an Adirondack fishing camp to a Chesapeake Bay hunt club, each room memorializes the beauty and adventure found on the water. When you can't visit Nantucket in person, Mark Center is gloriously outfitted with antique model sailboats, a replica Potomac boathouse and a cozy beach shack and bait shop that's ready to welcome any sea dog.

This restaurant featured a very varied menu from calves liver to swordfish. The prices are reasonable and the service very good. Atmosphere is ok but not great

Over the years, I have eaten at this and other Clyde's restaurants many times. It's the
"go to" spot when people in our extended family get together for meals that are not Grand Occasions. Most recently, I ate there two nights out of the last three, with different companions, once in the Newport Room (summer favorite) and once in the Adirondack Room (winter favorite). The menu has been refreshed and, on both occasions, the food and service were excellent. My mother claims that the coffee is not good - too weak - but otherwise there is much to enjoy, in terms of atmosphere, service, and food. P.S. The Asian Pear Salad is beautiful and delicious!

I've been a steady customer of Clyde's At Mark Center, but no more. I gave them every opportunity to respond to an unsatisfactory experience, but the waiter failed to acknowledge my problem and then, regrettably, my comments made to their web site also fell on deaf ears. I recently ordered the 1 1/4 lb. lobster (no longer a special) and was stunned by the deformed little lobster body contained in a decent sized shell. No joke... one of the claws was about the size of my fingertip and the other not much bigger. It was quite a joke at my table - I just wish I had taken a picture. I did not get a 1 1/4 lb. lobster... it couldn't have been more than a quarter lb., most of it shell. I respectfully showed it to our waiter, and he said that he would report it to the kitchen. Although I heard nothing more from him, I finished my sparse meal and expected that there would be some type of offset on the bill, an offer of a free dessert, something. Truly - this deserved a comp for another future meal but I thought that they would have the sense to recognize this. NOTHING! I chose not to raise this to the waiter but instead wrote to Clydes through their website. NOTHING! I've waited patiently before writing this review, but since they failed to make good with a faithful customer, I feel it important to warn future customers. If you choose to visit this restaurant, don't leave before resolving your problem as it appears that their corporate management just doesn't care.

Enjoyed a great meal (on lobster night) and great service. The waiter was attentive and food arrived quickly. Lobster night pricing is reasonable. Also tried the steamed little neck clams. Wonderful!

Clyde's at Mark Center is an excellent restaurant/pub that caters to a mix of locals and business travelers. We enjoyed the pub atmosphere and a terrific happy hour where certain items are half-off (4-7 pm Monday to Thursday). They have good prices on wines and special cocktail prices. We had some excellent oysters, calimari and shrimp appetizers. Go check out Clydes after a long day of business or doing the tourist activities!
