This place is usually a fun late night place to hang out and see the locals get a bit wild. The Bartenders there are great especially long standing Bruce. He always takes good care of you and overall a great bar experience. Lots of beers on tap. Have to try the Founders if you like a Porters.

Just had a wedding rehearsal dinner for about 40 people upstairs in the George Washington Room. All was great: food service (Thanks Amber & Wendy) and atmosphere. Debbie did a terrific job putting it all together.

Out in Alexandria for the evening, we stopped at this place for a drink. Bartender, Bruce, very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, this is where the good time ends. The place smelled slightly like a urinal cake. We just had one beer and left. (1 bottle & 1 draft, both domestic = $10.73?!). I found out later in the evening, this is pretty much the norm for Old Town. This place is a quaint, semi-historical site and would be neat on a pub crawl, but I don't think I'll be back.

This used to be our favorite local restaurant. We would bring all of our out-of-town guests here for the great jukebox and delicious Pasta Jambalaya. It was full of great tastes: shrimp, sausage and deep, rich roux. After bringing someone there once, they would always want to go again for that “Little Bowl of Heaven” as we all dubbed it. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, they have taken the Pasta Jambalaya off the menu. What a shame. Besides the great décor, good beer on tap, great bartender service and reasonable prices, the main draw for us was the Pasta Jambalaya. We hardly ever go there now. Alas, the jukebox is gone too.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local who stopped us from going into another seafood restaurant. As far as environment goes, the restaurant was desolate and I questioned its cleanliness. The table had gum on top and the floor looked like it could use a swiffer. We ordered the oyster po boy which came with an amazing dipping sauce that was a bit spicy. There were about five to six oysters on top of a massive bun with some fries that could have easily been frozen and dethawed. It was too pricy for what it was and I don't think that I would return.
