This restaurant has recently changed its name but the sign still says Pat Troy's.

We had our final lunch here after checking in our luggage at the Alexandria Amtrak station and boarded the nearby free King St. trolley. It was noon and we were the only customers so we didn't get a feel for the ambiance. Country music was playing in the background and their was a sign listing the entertainment for the next few weeks.

My fish and chips were cooked well and my husband had a good, medium rare half pound burger, which he enjoyed. Many restaurants can't or won't cook the burgers to order, but this one did.

We had a couple draft beers (Stella Artois just became available there we were told) and then we hopped back on the free trolley and returned to the train station for the southbound Silver Star to return us to Tampa, Fl. It all worked out very well.

There were 6 people and all of us loved it! Dark inside, but we ate on patio in the back and they were quick to dry off chairs and accommodate us.. Great chicken club, chicken pot pie, omelet and shepherds pie.

Stopped in to eat and listen to music. We had reuben sandwiches which were very good. The music started around 8:30 and thet was very enjoyable. It was a very nice evening.

Great music! Felt like I was in I was back in Ireland. It was the best Irish pub we found. We went to three pub prior to that one and it was the best one. Servers were extremely busy but kept a smile and never messed up an order and served us timely. The entertainer had an amazing voice. Then we were given a real surprise...a really great bagpipe musician came and played. What a great evening.

Pat Troy no longer owns this pub but he was there last night dressed in leprechaun garb. My wife and I went here for food after some good music at Murphy's on St. Paddy's Day. The best parts were the Guinness, the company at our shared table, and the girls from the local Irish dance schools. The Fish and Chips, usually a no brainer, was pretty tasteless. The Beef Stew tasted good but it was more of a Beef *Soup*. That combined with plastic utensils and plastic cups really cheapened the whole experience, especially at their menu prices. It seems like a place running (on fumes) on his reputation and not really worrying about the rest. FWIW, the french fries were really good. Go for the beer, skip the food.
