We dropped in one Saturday at 1130, visiting Alexandria for a friend's birthday. We ordered a charcuterie plate with duck prosciutto, boar salami, one of the many goat cheeses, a blue cheese, and a creamy number. The accoutrement (?sp) were perfect: cornichons, fig jam, pickled veg, toasted baguettes. We were almost full but still ordered on! The country pâté was amazing, as was the beef cheek sandwich. We will definitely return, the ingredients were fresh, specials were inventive, and dishes were delectable!

My foodie friend and I tried this place yesterday for the first time, and we loved it! Their options are intriguing (like the beef cheek and wild boar meatball sandwich), and it's quite like a European cafe! The staff were friendly, and it's in the heart of Old Town!

A group from a workshop (5) came in for lunch. Unfortunately, the service was so slow, the great Taste of the food was nullified by how fast we had to eat it to get back to class on time.

I had a lunch and two suppers from here recently, and the most impressive thing was the raw materials for the meals. It wasn't just ordinary beet salad, it was salad with three or four varieties of beets; the same thing with the tomato salad, which had many different colors and sizes and tastes of tomatoes. The mac and cheese had identifiable cheese-variety tastes. I was very happy with everything I had from here -- including the chocolate bar with caramel and bacon bits!

My husband and I stumbled onto La Fromagerie in Old Town while shopping one weekend. We wanted a snack before heading to the movies, and this was the absolute perfect place. Our only regret is that we couldn't sample more of the fabulous food or linger longer. La Fromagerie specializes in artisanal and local cheeses, meats, produce and more. The wines are supplied by independent producers around the world with a large selection or organic and biodynamic wines. Whether dining in, or ordering food to go or for your next dinner party, there is a good selection of everything.

We sampled the duck pate with cherries, heirloom tomato salad with peaches and burrata and the rabbit cheese steak sandwich. All super tasty and totally fresh. The coffee, supplied by local roaster Misha, brewed in a French press is also delicious. The wine list for dining-in was lovely and affordable. We noticed that the store and bistro run great daily specials on wines, cheese et al. In general for the quality and variety, we felt it was overall reasonably priced. We also like the clean, casual, rustic atmosphere that includes some communal tables. If you're looking for a lunch spot, light dinner or planning a picnic, go here!! We cannot wait to go back and to stock up for our next cocktail party.
