After a long day at Mount Vernon we were looking for an Indian restaurant when this one popped up on the GPS. Without knowing much we headed for this restaurant, tucked away in a strip mall. The place is laid back and is meant to handle only very small parties. Our group of 7 had to wait for a while on a not-so busy evening.
The tomato soup didn’t have the tang we normally look for in an Indian restaurant. The breads were fresh and well made. The vegetable platter was wholesome, with good variety. The portion of vegetable biryani was pretty big. The yellow dal was very good and not oily. Dal makhni tasted good. The dessert menu was modest, with the popular treats.
We observed a steady stream of customers for take-away. Overall a modest place with pretty decent food.
