The location is very nice, the beds are clean and comfortable, we asked for a quiet room with a nice view and were completely satisfied. The location next to the Metro is very convenient and there was no train noise at all even though I was on that side of the hotel (6th floor).

The hotel seems to be either understaffed or the staff is poorly trained. I asked the front desk person for directions to something in Alexandria and he was not effective at getting me where I was going, failed to tell me that the place I was looking for was 10 blocks away and pointed in the wrong direction when telling me how to get there. I asked for a train map/schedule and they just shrugged and said "you don't need done."

The staff in the dining room was hit or miss; we had one lovely woman from Ethiopia who was intelligent, charming and a pleasure, but the others were not as well trained. There were people behind the bar who didn't seem to know what they were doing. We came in around 8pm on Saturday and asked at the dining room for a menu and the person (who was also tending bar) just walked away and never came back. There's no coffee in the rooms and the Starbucks in the lobby doesn't open until 7:00am (they also had some staff issues; not the highly efficient Starbucks staff I'm used to experiencing). So there's no way to get coffee early in the morning unless you want to talk a few blocks to Dunkin Donuts. No visible gift-shop for amenities (I didn't look too hard in all fariness). All in all if you're just going to sleep and you don't need to be out of there before 7 I guess it's OK.

Room Tip: I was in 628 and although it was a long walk down the hallway it was quiet and clean with a nice view of the metro station and whatever the lovely historical building is on the hill across the way.

I was disappointed with my stay this time.
Employes were not overly friendly. The TV didn't work properly...bad signal...kept breaking up. Not many channels offered. Room service breakfast was below standards...food was not as ordered at all and they forgot coffee. I do realize that these are minor problems, but for a luxury hotel, should not have occurred. Since hotel is close to Old Town I would consider staying there again, but I'd probably check other hotels first.

Excellent access to King Street DC Metro Station. Location at edge of Old Town Alexandria is handy for shopping and eating places--La Madeleine Restaurant (500 King Street) has a good breakfast. Old Town Farmers Market on Saturday is worth browsing.

Mine was a one night business stay. Great location -- 10 min by cab from Regan -- or direct by Metro with the stop literally across the street, so easy, inexpensive access back into DC. Right on King Street in heart of Alexandria. Busy during the day, active in the evening, but quiet overnight. The hotel staff and amenities were excellent. Overall, a great package -- relaxing while supportive of work. Recommended without hesitation.

Great location if you don't want to stay in downtown DC. The hotel is right beside the Metro stop with an easy ride to all of the DC sites. The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. Breakfast was perfect for our family of 4.
