“Excellent hotel for DC.”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We purposely chose this hotel over Residence Inn of Pentagon City because parking was complimentary. There was no swimming pool but that was no problem for us. The room was got was large and clean. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly. What I like about this hotel is that the hallway is lighted up really bright. This is also a laundry room. As usual, coffee and hot water is available all day long and full breafast is served morning. There was an issue with the toaster not working one moming, and the front dask staff to care of it within 5 minutes. We use the shuttle to get to Eisenhower metro station the 1st day and on the way back, we called the hotel and got picked up within 10 minutes. The other days, we drove to DC and parked in the underground parking lot. It is cheaper and more convenient for a family of 4 than using the metro.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the front of the hotel. You won't here the trains realy in the morning.

We stayed here for a week and throughly enjoyed it. Very friendly staff, front desk and house-keeping. Rooms are large, has a refrig, and micro-wave. Is walkable to Eisnehower Metro, but they do have a shuttle. Full breakfast is served every morning. We will stay here again.

They do have large groups sometimes which can make lines longer at breakfast, and shuttle service slower. People just need to get over this. You cannot beat this place for location, free parking, and Metro access for the price.

Room Tip: We had a corner room with windows on 2 sides.Lots of extra light, but in the summer with the heat, y...

The hotel was fantastic! The staff was friendly, very pleasant, and very helpful. The rooms were clean (spotless), comfortable, and quite spacious. The bed was excellent. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave. Our room also had a separate seating area and a large desk. It is a livable and workable room.

There is not only Wi/Fi internet access but also a wired connection - great if you are there on business of if you have multiple tech gadgets. Another fantastic thing is that there were many accessible plugs (this may seem like a minor thing but you will know what I mean if you have even had to move a dresser to get at a plug to charge your phone).

Breakfast was included and quite good. Fruit, meat, and eggs were available, as well as regular continental fare.

The hotel is out-of-the-way. It is within a 15-20 minute walk of restaurants and shops but there is nothing closer. However, the hotel provides a shuttle to the Eisenhower metro station. It is a five minute shuttle-ride to the station so the shuttle is frequently available. On evenings and weekends, the shuttle also goes to King Street metro station, which is on the edge of Alexandria's Old Town. There is easy access to the metro and it takes 30 minutes to get to the Smithsonian from the hotel. So, even though the hotel is not near anything, the shuttle makes things quite accessible.

I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Location is not great but regular shuttle service makes for easy metro access.

It's a new place so everything is updated. Very clean, comfortable, and convenient. They have a free shuttle to the metro station and everyone is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and were very happy with everything. I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

The hotel has a great lobby for breakfast and relaxation. The breakfast has a good decent selection of fruits, cereals, scramble egg, and some meat, i.e. hot breatfast. The waffle is also great. The view is beautiful. The hotel room is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the separate seating area from the beds is nice. The aircondition works well and quiet, very helpful for a quality night sleep.

However, the quality of the reception area, especially the attitude of the male receptionist, can definitely be improved to complement the overall quality of the hotel experience.

Because certain parts of the hotel face the railway, don't forget to ask and demand a quiet room.

Room Tip: Always ask for a quiet room not facing the railway.

Common sense : the fact that we are getting double beds mean, we dont want to see each other nude. The toilets and bathrooms dont have a LOCK . A big NO NO for this hotel if you are travelling with family.

My husband and I stayed here during a house hunting trip to DC. We liked the freebies (parking, wifi, and breakfast). The rooms were clean and modern. However there really wasn't any place to hang your towels in the bathroom and the shower door almost fell out of the track. Other than that I have no complaints. The breakfast was busy but the attendant was willing to refill whatever you needed. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
