Topgolf takes all your favorite leisure activities - bowling, darts and golf - and fuses them with great food and drinks to form a truly unique game and outdoor entertainment facility. Topgolf requires no golf experience. What makes Topgolf so revolutionary? Each ball contains a microchip that awards points by hitting targets that look like dart boards. The further the target and the closer you get to the center, the more points you are awarded.

was skeptical, but thought we'd give it a whirl on a cold Saturday afternoon. AWESOME. this is a top notch driving range. heated tee boxes, wait staff is friendly. great technology that made the standard driving range experience a distant memory. enjoyed the oppty to play against friends, track your scores, and enjoy an afternoon.

did not try the food, but loved the idea. great for families, too (think early Saturday a, dads with the kid while mom sleeps in). beer looked cold and if you want to enjoy a golf course cigar, well you can do that too.

I'll be back. great concept!

Top Golf is a great place to go if you are looking to just have fun or perfect your golf shot. The food served here is really good too, and you get a personal server at your individual bay that will bring you food and drinks. This is a fun night out with friends!

This was my first time at TopGolf so I really asked a lot of questions at the front desk. TopGolf staff were very patient and pleasant throughout my inquisition. TopGolf sells a mandatory game card for a 30-day period or an indefinite period. Cost are $5 and $40, respectively. After you buy the card, you can put as much money on the card as you want. Prices for each game vary by day and time. After you register, you sign up for a bay. They will call or text your mobile when your bay is ready.

TopGolf gives you the option to bring your own clubs or use a loaner set (no charge). So depending on how serious your game is, you may want to bring your own clubs.

While you wait for a bay, there is a cafe between the registration counter and the outside bays. The cafe has tables and stools to sit and eat while you wait for your bay to become available. Food selection is a limited version of a Ruby Tuesday (or similar) and prices are pretty much comparable.

To play, you start out getting golf balls from the dispenser. The tech part kicks in at this point. You insert your game card and select how many games to load up (and debits your card total for each selected game). The ball dispenser delivers 20 golf balls per game into your basket. At the bay you will find a table with chairs along with a table separating each bay that holds condiments. There should be at least two chairs per table. If not, call the attendants for more.

The bays are individually heated You can order food while at the bay, or bring food into the bay from the cafe.

Every ball you hit is first run through a machine that registers the id of that specific ball. Then as you hit the ball, the results are displayed on the screen. The object is to hit balls into targets located from 25 to over 200 yards away. Each target has a series of compartments circling the center and the closer to the center, the more points. As you hit a ball into a compartment, there is a visual display showing which compartment your ball dropped into and the points scored. No compartment, no display.

SOooooo, if you are wondering (or not) how it keeps score, the answer is each ball is tagged at the dispenser based on your game card and keeps track of which targets you hit.

To maintain a competitive setting, I recommend only playing five balls at a time and rotate among the players every five balls to keep it interesting.

Have fun day or night.

Very entertaining and nice to know where your balls actually flew off to. The games are amusing and good for improving aim.
