“A different view, A relaxing time !!!”

Yes, Washington DC is all about walking your feet off !
Been here many times, too many, but never get tired of the nation's Capitol.
The cruise up/down the muddy Potamic is so different that is shouldn't be missed.
To see Washingon from the river is how dignitaries arrived before trains. Go under the bridges we cross frequently to the airport, Arlington, etc; see the steps behind the Lincoln Memorial, see the other side of the tidal basin, etc.
Approach Georgetown from the water; revel in the improved park areas, people watch, walk up the hill to Georgetown for a meal. Approach Alexandra for the revoluntary architecture, many small & quaint eateries. See the former torpedo factory converted to artist workshops. People watch.
Bottom line (for me at least): see Washington from a different vantage point. Maybe don't do this at first it eventually do this cruise (on a nice day) .... you won't be sorry.

“Relaxing boat trip, not much else”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

We did the Alexandria to Washington Harbor Monuments Cruise. We were a little disappointed that we didn't really get as close to the monuments as we thought we would. Had to use the telephoto lens for the Jefferson, Lincoln, and Washington monuments, but overall the ride was relaxing and we enjoyed the time just gazing out at the other boats and the pretty scenery (except the area with the waste treatment plan and some other industrial areas....this is the city, so there are some necessities). We took different boats coming and going, and enjoyed the open air one the most, but it was a beautiful day and the weather cooperated. Next time, we'd do the evening dinner cruise with another boat company, but for an afternoon of sitting, this was OK.

“A unique view of the monuments”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

While visiting family in Alexandria we decided that rather than fight the memorial day weekend crowds in D.C. we would do a river cruise that runs between Alexandria and Georgetown. You get the water view of the Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson memorials as well as the Lincoln Center and Watergate complex. You can get off in Georgetown and enjoy that area and then cruise back to Alexandria. That weekend there was also the option to take the water taxi to the National Mall.

“Not what you are expecting and completely disorganized”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

It's not bad. And it's not that expensive. We took a one-way night trip from Georgetown to Old Town for $13 per person.

Problem 1: You see the monuments for all of 5 minutes, so touting it as a monuments cruise is a little laughable.
Problem 2: Disorganization. Try buying a ticket at Georgetown...took us twenty minutes and there wasn't anyone in front of us. It's basically a cart on wheels, two employees and a laptop. The laptop kept shutting down and there was no way to print the tickets...then the boat was 30 minutes late with no apology...lining up was a pain, there was no sign or officially boarding area, just a kid that worked for them starting the line. I think our exact instructions were: "line up behind the blond with the brown bag..."

It's really just a water taxi disguised as a tour. Go in with that expectation and you'll be moderately satisfied. They have to get the ticketing fixed. No excuse for that.
