Took one way trip from Georgetown to Old Town Alexandria, about a 45min ride. They give you some insights into the sights along the cruise, bridges, monuments, etc. Open air boat, so be wary on hot, humid days (up front you get the breeze to cool you off).

Tip: Take the cruise around sunset, truly spectacular view from the boat as the city is lighting up for dusk and the sunset creates colorful skies.

Great way to get to Mt Vernon, view National Harbor from the water, learn fun facts about the river and area. Guides are friendly and helpful, boat was clean and well-kept.

I had bought a round trip ticket to national harbor with an intended departure time of 930 pm. I ended up finishing dinner early and headed to the water taxi stand in national harbor. An attendant was letting two individuals off the boat so I asked him if I could get on the non full boat. He told me they were leaving right now which didn't make sense due to the ramp still being connected to the boat and the attendant not being on the boat. I instead had to wait another 40 minutes for the taxi which could have easily been avoided if the attendant would have allowed for me to get on the boat. I am so disappointed in the customer service of this company.

We were staying at National Harbor for a business meeting and when it ended around noon we wanted to do something. National Harbor is new and nice and we had walked it during the day we arrived. Right outside the hotel they have a water taxi which will take you to Old Alexandria which is a good place to spend the afternoon. There are plenty of restaurants, art shops and retail shops. We had a car rented for the afternoon and canceled it in favor of the water taxi. Glad we did because it was an enjoyable ride and I did not have to worry about driving and parking so I could simply relax. The water taxi was $8 each way and you can buy a ticket at the dock. They have a printed schedule and run late. Once you get to Old Alexandra you can take another boat and see the monument in DC. We did not do the monument tour we spent the day in Alexandria. When we were ready we simply walk up bought our return ticket and got on. The ride was relaxing and a pleasant and only took about 20 minutes from dock to dock. They have a clean restroom on board and the boats were in nice shape. They have limited outside seating on the front and rear. The rest is inside bench seating with air-conditioning. During cold or bad weather it would be good to go inside. However it was very pleasant and we sat in both the Front and Rear. The rear area is covered while the front is open with a small 4 person bench to sit one. You can stand in the front which most of us did. If you want to sit in either front or rear you will need to be a little early as they fill up first in good weather.

great cruise over to Old Town Alexandria and back. first boat over was smaller and very crowded; return trip in 'double decker' boat much nicer, especially to sit on top. friendly, accommodating staff.boats on time.
