My husband and I went to Brabo to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary and enjoyed our evening very much. I had been to the Tasting Room before and enjoyed it, but had never been to this restaurant so was anxious to try it.
The food did not disappoint. I had the special pappardelle pasta that was excellent (if slightly, slightly salty) followed by the special duck entree which, again, was great - cooked perfectly medium rare and with a nice sear. My husband had the pan seared ribeye. It was huge and cooked perfectly, but probably not the best choice for this restaurant. Stick with their more signature dishes or specials. The side of pureed potatoes was amazing. So creamy and delicious! We ended the evening with the rhubarb tart which was very good.
The service was attentive, but a little uneven at times. Even though the restaurant wasn't overly crowded we had to wait awhile for our first round of drinks but the appetizers came very quickly after we ordered -almost too quickly as we kind of wanted to order a 2nd round of drinks prior to dining. But, throughout our meal, our waiter was attentive remembering to come back to pour wine but didn't rush us. And the sommelier was great, very knowledgable and helped us choose just the right bottle of wine.
Overall, I liked the atmosphere. We were toward the back which was quieter. I would imagine tables on the side just past the bar would be noisy as the bar remains quite packed, but we had a good spot, comfortable and easy to converse.
We will definitely go back!
