“Great Value”

We stayed here for five nights during a family vacation to the DC area. The restaurant in the hotel served amazing sushi. The pool had a lifeguard on duty but closed at 10pm. There was no spa. The shuttle was reliable and ran between the motel, a metro stop and the airport every half of an hour. The grounds and the hotel are beautiful. Housekeeping was great and the room was very clean. The only complaint we had was that the air conditioning in the shuttles was not adequate. We would consider staying here again.

Stayed here for one night. Got the Room with 2 double bed special. Was worth the great rate and all the double bed rooms are recently renovated. The outdoor pool was nice. The one reason may not stay again was the distance from the Metro. We had stayed 2 nights in Old Town Alexandria and were close to the metro. We had to take a shuttle from the hotel to the Metro which was a 10 minute ride and had to wait 1/2 hour over on our return for the shuttle. Didn't feel safe in the neighborhood when we drove to Friday's Restaurant 2 miles away for dinner and to see 2 security guards walking around carrying guns. Many large apartment complexes around hotel.

This is a nice and clean hotel. Good price for a room with dbl queen beds. The A/C was quiet and beds comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the metro made going to DC easy. I read a review about bed bugs and it is absolutely not true. There is a charge for parking. It would be nice to have a bed and breakfast deal at this rate.

My son and I stayed at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center for one night during the SummerGetaway Lacrosse Tournament at Episcopal High School. The hotel is convenient to I-395 and Rt-7 as well as Old Towne Alexandria. It is very new and has all of the usual Hilton amenities. I was surprised to find that the hotel charged a $15.00 parking fee. I checked and it is on their website, so I should not have been surprised. I think that this kind of fee in the burbs when parking is not at a premium and one is paying a premium room rate is just nickel-and-diming their guests.

Good place to call a base from which go and visit DC musuems and parks, about 15 to 20 minutes drive from the DC mall. There might be some parties or conventions on the lower floors but the noise doesn't make it up to the room. WiFi is paid for, good 3G reception though (AT&T). Rooms are medium in size, had a double and there was enough space, the beds were ok and clean. There are restaurants around but you'll have to drive a mile or two to find them, there's like three strip malls with plenty of choices nearby. Very close to the freeway so you can be on your way quickly. There's no free parking, you have to pay for card access to the parking lot in the back. Good thing is that if it is snowing you can park underground and there's a direct exit from the hotel to the parking lot. Good place to stay for doing the tourist thing.

Turned on the shower water this morning and rusty water came out. Red rust! Called client care number they sent someone up promptly. The person said not a big deal, let it run and it should be ok. 15 minutes later water was even darker. Called again. Next person said it was rusty water from Air conditioning and he thought it would be better. 15 more no change and no one cared. This after the hotel power was out for 2 plus hours the night before. No generators here and rusty water. Beware

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent experience at our hotel. Please accept my sincere apology for the inconveniences that you were caused by our emergency water shut down, and the resulting rust in the water when the water was turned on again.
We hope that we will have another opportunity to better deomonstrate the abilities of our staff and facilities.
Best Regards,
Charlie Banta

First of all -- it is a nice location - easy to get to but close to DC. We were in DC to attend the Kennedy Center. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Our room was very comfortable - but we had a few minor complaints- we could not open the door to the balcony AND the cable TV had limited channnels. Also, there was no tourist information in the room. BUT the concierge was VERY helpful as was everyone else. People said helllo to you. The breakfast buffet was good value (we had included it) and we enjoyed dinner in Finn & Porter. But the bar did not open until 5 p.m. - 4 would have been better. Overall a good experience and we will stay there again the next time we are in DC
