We took the Old Alexandria Walking Food Tour with our guide Ada who was amazing. She was very informative and personable. The pace was perfect and the food was delicious. This was the perfect way to learn a little more about a great city with so much American history.

I contacted DC Metro Food Tours by email several weeks before travelling from Australia to the USA on holidays. Our contact person Mallory was fantastic and organised a private tour, as we were not there on the regular tour days.
Pam our guide was amazing on our Capitol Hill Tour, with so much local knowledge, and general knowledge of Washington DC. Food was also great, with a great variety, and spread out well. Travelling with a teenager who also loved it, which I think goes to show it's definitely for all ages.
DC such an amazing town, and definitley one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful during the Cherry Blossom festival. Wish we had had more time there.

I went on the Old Town Alexandria food tour with my wife and it was great! We loved touring the city and learning about the history - seeing homes where George Washington lived was really cool. We stopped at four places for appetizers, main courses, and dessert, and all the food was really good and had a nice variety. Finally, our tour guide, Dena, really knew her stuff and gave a great tour. Highly recommended!!!

We were really hoping for a great time on this tour through Old Town Alexandria. The walk around town was enjoyable, and we appreciated the guide's enthusiasm. There isn't that much food served, so we left hungry. We'd easily forgive that if the food was outstanding, but the food was lackluster at best, and in some cases outright bad. Bilbo Baggins was pretty good. Columbia Firehouse was only so-so, lots of sand in the scallop. Union Street Public House was atrociously bad for service and food. The dessert had a fun and local taste, but definitely "home made" in style and presentation. We got this as a gift and it made for a nice day out, but for others considering purchasing the tour I'd just recommend you park, walk around town on your own and read the historic plaques, and dine at places with good recommendations on TripAdvisor or Yelp.

My wife and I took the Food Tour in Old Town Alexandria VA with friends from Colorado. Our Tour was on Sunday Dec. 4, 2011, started promptly at 1:00pm, and lasted about three hours Our guide, Ted, was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. At the start, Ted asked if we had any type of food allergies. We went to three restaurants and got a delicious jelly cake dessert and tea at a specialty shop. The food was very good and we had plenty to eat.

We had taken this tour a year before. That tour was a Christmas gift from our daughter. So we wanted to take our friends, who were visiting us, on the tour this year. They were interested in the history of Old Town and really enjoyed the tour, as we did. Our guide gave us a lot of historical background, as we walked, and freely answered all of our questions.

The time was well-balanced between eating and walking. We felt that the walking was easy, not stressful or rushed. We did not feel tired after walking. We had comfortable walking shoes.

Ted was always ready to accommodate our wishes, if at all possible. We had a very nice time, and would do it again.
