We had the mixed seafood grill. The combination of baby octopus, scallops, and shrimp were perfectly cooked. The portions were a bit small for the price. The service was good. The noise level was high.

Fresh seafood done very well. Nice selection of oysters from both coasts, server new which were briniest etc. Clam in wine butter sauce fantastic. Hubby's scallops perfectly cooked with a nice flavor profile. Service excellent. The banana creme brulee fab. Go early, they don't take reservations and it is a small place that fills up quickly.

I'd eaten at another of their locations in DC and was excited to find a Hank's in Alexandria. The oysters were cooked perfectly and the staff made me feel very welcomed as a solo diner. The place has a casual charm and a happy vibe. Wish I'd had time to work my way through more of the menu.

My friend & I arrived around 7:30 pm on a Saturday. We were told to return in 35-40 mins. We did as we were told but there was still no table. the manager offered us a glass of wine & about 20 minutes later a table was secured. Everything we ordered was great, from the raw oysters to the fried oysters & the lobster roll (with extra crispy fries) as well as a side of garlic butter portobello mushrooms. There was no question of the freshness of the ingredients - no wonder people are willing to wait. Look forward to returning soon!

The happy hour is amazing! Several kinds to choose from and so cheap. Get there early because it's a small space and fills quickly. Also, be prepared to spend a bundle even at happy hour because you'll keep ordering more and more...
