“Cozy oyster house”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

Wanted a nice lunch in Old Town Alexandria and came here based on distance and TA reviews. Cozy spot with a few tables up front and more in the back. The tables for 2 in the back are pretty close together, so be friendly to your neighbors. Started off with a sampling of oysters. They had 6 different varieties to choose from. We had the waiter pick 3 of the best and were pleased with his selection we ordered our food while still eating the oysters, however it took a very long time to get our meals. Many tables around us received food before us (and they ordered after us). We weren't in a hurry so didn't mind too much. The waiter was very apologetic and brought us 6 more oysters on the house. Very nice. Husband had crab cakes which were excellent, very little "filler" and lots of crab meat. Onion rings were fabulous! I had the lobster roll. Was a nice blend of freshness with just a dusting of mayo. Old bay fries were ok, wished I had onion rings! When bill came, all the oysters were comped! Nice to know that when service snafus happen, they take care of their customers. Would def return.

“Great Brunch!”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

My friend and I went here for brunch on a Saturday, and we really enjoyed what we got. All the options sounded good, and we plan to go back! It's a little small, but think of it as cozy!

“Quite tasty!”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

I visited with a large group, which didn't really work well. The restaurant is tiny, with no tables large enough for groups. Luckily, the food made up for the inconvenience of splitting into 3 parties and waiting to be seated. The small plates are good, and shareable. We had the popcorn shrimp and calamari as an appetizer and and enjoyed every bite. It was fresh, hot, and well seasoned. The entrees were equally good, and everyone enjoyed their selections. One word of caution- it's loud. Don't expect to have any deep conversations with your table mates. Focus on the food and you won't be disappointed.

“One of the best on King St, Alexandria”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Many restaurants on King Street over-priced for mediocre food; this was an exception worth waiting for. Small plates were very large, easily sharable. Mussels, oysters excellent! Staff very fast and attentive.
