“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

Myself, my wife, and our 2 boys stayed here for 4 nights over Easter break. First of all, let me stress that the location is great. You are a short walk to King Street which is the main attraction of Old Town Alexandria. The hotel will shuttle you to and from the Metro. The customer service was very good. Having only used the Metro once before, the front desk was very helpful in helping me navigate into DC via the Metro. Also, the hotel ran out of bagged coffee for the rooms 2 of our 4 days. In lieu of the in room coffee, the staff delivered coffee to our room free of charge. Parking was easy, as I was always able to secure surface parking, and never had to use the ramp.
As with most reviews I do have a couple of negatives to point out. First of all, the front doors were not automatic sliding doors. This may not sound like a big deal, but with 2 suitcases, 2 duffel bags, and a computer bag on the luggage cart it was not the easiest thing to maneuver through 2 sets of push doors. Also, the hotel advertises a hot tub, but from the looks of the hot tub it hasn't been used it quite a while as it was being used as a planter stand in the pool room.
Overall, it was a good experience, and yes I would return.

From check-in until check-out we enjoyed perhaps the finest hotel experience ever. We were advised of all services available before we ever thought to ask. After our first day in DC, we were so tired that we chose the hotel restaurant, Bistro on First, in lieu of one of the other outstanding restaurants in Old Town. Our experience was so pleasant and the food quality and preparation so excellent that we chose to dine in the next night as well. Particularly outstanding was our server,Lahbib, who served us as family and truly went out of his way to make our visit memorable. Please give Lahbib special commendation for his outstanding service to the hotel as well as to the quests. We will especially look forward to our visit with him again.

Thank you all for a great job!

My husband and I spent 2 days in Alexandria to see DC and loved the location. It a quiet and safe neighborhood and just 10 mins by car to all the DC landmarks. There is a supermarket open until midnight right across the hotel and great restaurants 9 blocks away.

Room Tip: The corner rooms are very spacious

I had to say here one night while in transition of a move back to DC. It's full of tourists, lots of kids, and the noise level in the evenings was therefore a bit louder from what I could hear around the rooms. It's not luxurious..but it's okay for a short stay or for people traveling on a budget and visiting the area.

My family stayed here for a spring break to see DC. We loved this hotel. Alexandria is a beautiful city to walk around and several great restaurants. We stayed 3 nights and hope to return in the future. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, lobby attractive and spacious rooms. It is very conveniently located to a grocery store. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to
DC and can also enjoy the history and charm of Alexandria.
