We enjoyed the monument. Interesting history, past and present. Educational regarding the Free Masons and a beautiful building as well. It does have a $5 entrance fee but we think it was worth it.

This was an amazing visit for us. Its not on the regular hit list of most people visiting DC landmarks and very wel worth the stop!

The tour of this beautiful "recreation" of the Egyptian Lighthouse at Alexandria, Egypt, was eight dollars and well worth it to get a view from the 9th floor observation deck, where on a clear day you will see the Capitol, Washington Monument, and a 360 degree view of the area. Prior to our visit, I studied the layout of the Washington DC area when Washington was there. That "layout" information is not available there. To enhance your visit, do a bit of study and the visit will be very enlightening. Even without that preparation, to me it is one of the finest presentations of architecture, and historical artifacts in the DC area.

The memorial is quite impressive. At night it was lit up, like a beacon in the dark sky. During the day, it sits on a hilltop, overlooking the town.

Great view of the monument from the bottom of the hill, and on top - over the surrounding area.

Interesting place to visit. It's beautiful at night. If you love history and especially Washington, you should put this on your list.
