My husband and I spent two nights at the Farmhouse to celebrate our anniversary. We can't say enough good things about this wonderful B&B. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the owners and staff are very accomodating, the setting is lovely, and the food delicious - their chef is fantastic! The Farmhouse is both elegant while also being warm and inviting. The adjacent vineyards/tasting room add to the charm. Extremely well worth the price. We would highly recommend this B&B!

Room Tip: All but one room have a second-floor view. Call to ask about location of room if that is a concern.

We have stayed at lots of B&B's but this one takes it up a notch!! We were there for a wedding at Veritas and had the whole house filled with friends. A special weekend...with terrific breakfasts, wonderful wines and lots of fun memories. Joel, the chef is terrific, Valerie, the house manager is a dream and Patricia and Andrew, the owners were in and out...it used to be their home! All rooms are perfectly decorated and quiet! We're already scheduled another weekend for next year! :)

Room Tip: We stayed in Devon...great room!

My husband and I spent several nights here in September, and we agree with the other positive reviews. What a wonderful place! Beautiful decor, lovely surroundings, comfortable and relaxing. Two things stand out: the people and the breakfasts! Everyone who worked here was friendly and helpful--they all seemed like they really enjoyed their work and were very interested in making our stay perfect. The breakfasts were among the best we've ever had at a B&B--very creative--we felt like the chef was preparing a special meal just for us! We met the owner, who doesn't actually live in the farmhouse, but is close by. The manager/concierge lives on the property just a few steps away. We learned that the B&B only opened for business this past Spring. Keep up the good work Veritas! My only recommendation to the owner is to install an outside hot tub as one final touch!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Derby, which has 2 levels and a spiral staircase. It was fine for us, but I wouldn...

Excellence sums up dinner..What a meal.Four courses all prepared and explained by the chef
as we wiled away the time drinking the best wine from Veritas Winery. Service is off the scale as well as the amenities. Going back here for sure...Thanks to Drew and the chef and staff.

My Wife and I just celebrated our 2nd anniversary this Labor Day weekend. The Farmhouse is a beautiful house built in the 1800s and set in the foothills of Afton Mountain. We stayed in the Nottingham room, with a beautiful sitting area with a huge memory foam king bed. The bathroom was tiled and came with many amenities. Breakfast was amazing every morning. We ate out on the porch and were very full after our 3 course breakfast with coffee and sparkling wine. Very very impressed by Chef Joel! Wine was offererd early and often and the house is set up great for mingling with the other guests. Love the pool table! The Afton area of Virginia is one to visit and is becoming the Napa of the East Coast. You can spend your time visiting the winery up the road or one of the 15 other wineries in a 30 mile radius. If beer is your thing there are a number of award winning micro-breweries nearby. We also went into Charlottesville for dinner (I hear the Dinner that was served at the Farmhouse on Saturday Night was AMAZING) and we also visited Carter Mountain Orchard for apple picking. We definitely feel that we got the most for our money and enjoyed every minute of the weekend. Don't discount all the wonderful reviews, it really is worth it! First class all around. We will be back! Reserve well in advance as they are starting to book up for 2013!

Everything was amazing! You will not be disappointed. My husband and I stayed the first weekend in Aug. before he deployed. We couldn't have had a better and more relaxing experience. The staff is perfectly attentive and make you feel like royalty. We stayed in the room with the loft bedroom, which is a little more private, and it was gorgeous (as is the rest of the house). It had amazing views and did not feel like a hotel room at all. You can definitely tell that the owners' heart and soul have been poured into every aspect of the inn, from the ambiance and decor to the staff and daily operations. The breakfasts were that of a five star hotel, and the chefs were top shelf. Drew, the over-seer of everything wonderful, will make himself available whenever you need him, and he makes you feel completely at home. If you can make it happen, I would definitely recommend going early in the week (we were there Monday and Tuesday night), and you might get the house to yourself which makes it all that more romantic. To top everything off, Veritas has that best wine and the best tasting room in the Shenandoah region by far. My husband and I like to travel new places and always stay in different hotels, but this one place that we will absolutely come back to.

Room Tip: We stayed in the beautifully appointed Derby room. It is a little more secluded and definitely wort...
