We were a group of 10 up for a couples weekend of golf and wine from Richmond. This winery was beautiful with the grapes literally hanging down over you as you walked into the winery. We enjoyed some cheese and crackers as we sampled several bottles. Even ran into some friends from home and left with more bottles. A must stop for true wine lovers. The golf at the bottom and up on top of the mountain was fantastic also.

Our visit to Veritas today (8-17-14) was a big hit with us! The beauty and serenity of the vineyard and its buildings and the public areas hold their own to any match of the vineyards we have visited in Napa Valley in California. We have tried a few of the other vineyards in the Charlottesville area over the past several years. Veritas was a gem we wish we had uncovered before now. Our hostess at the tasting, Renee, is not only a very delightful person, but she is helpful and quite well prepared with the information about the wines in spite of the fact that she just started working there in May of this year. We were pleasantly surprised that 10 wines were offered for tasting ($7 per person)! With the exception of a great sauvignon blanc, our wine preferences usually lean to the full bodied reds, but ALL of the whites we tasted, even our least preferred chardonnay, were very good. So good, in fact, we bought a bottle of the chardonnay in addition to the port to take home! On the expansive covered porch overlooking the mountain vista, we enjoyed a bottle of viognier provided in a bucket of ice, with an extraordinary cheese plate which consisted of 3 large wedges of cheese, warm crusty bread, apple chutney, green olives, strawberries and blackberries. "WOW" is all we can say about the cheese plate. It was also nice to continue our enjoyment of the vineyard resting in the Adirondack chairs on the large lawn with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the vines of grapes. We are already planning our next trip to Veritas for this fall. If you are seriously looking for a great wine tasting and vineyard experience, you must not miss Veritas. http://www.veritaswines.com/

Absolutely beautiful!! The grounds are amazing. Quiet, country setting with seating outdoors or take your blanket and sit anywhere. Tasting room is beautiful and unique. I'm not a wine drinker, but went with a friend that is, I actually enjoyed the tasting though. $7 for a wine tasting (I think it was about 8 wines) and you get the glass.

Stopped here first on a tour of the nearby wineries. What a great place! Really set the bar high! The tasting room was beautiful, and the grounds were as well. Got to taste many wines, and enjoyed them all.

I've been to a few vineyards and have often had FREE tastings, I was so disappointed to hear $7 to taste, I would totally have bought a bottle of wine IF they would let me taste for free so walked away.............lovely place for weddings - gorgeous views and property.........but seriously you can't afford to give may 3 tastes then charge???
