Although the vines are just a decade old, the wine-tasting experience was one of my favorite ever as we settled into comfy leather couches in front of a cracking fire. For $5, we were given a sampling of 10 wines and a Veritas wine glass. The varieties include Chardonnay, Viognier, white blend (White Star & Kenmar), rose, red blend (Red Star), Claret, Merlot, & a Port. The winery is open M-F 9:30-5:50, Sat/Sun 11am-5pm.
I plan to return in the warmer months to enjoy sitting on the porch overlooking the vines, or hopefully attend one of the special events or concerts that have during the year. They also have a B&B restaurant called the Farmhouse, which looks like another wonderful way to immerse oneself into the charming and idyllic Virginia countryside.
