If you have a chance to visit the Wm King Museum before they take down the multi-media coffee paintings exhibit, you're in for a real treat. The artist has gone beyond the boundaries of studio art to create a dynamic diorama of her parents' aging and death. Her extraordinary talent shines a brilliant light on a not often discussed subject. The furniture exhibit though small is well done.

Exhibits included the importance of the road down the valley in settling Tennessee and Ohio and a series of fotos documenting the NASCAR scene. Of special interest is a series of photos by Winston Link on display at the train depot near the start of the Creeper Trail. A must see for any railroad fan.

We went to this museum as a side-trip when attending the Virginia Highlands Festival. There was a nice glass exhibit we wanted to see. Also very interesting was their Regional exhibit which was Furniture when we were there. They have rotating exhibits so check the schedule to see what's being shown.

William King Museum is such a regional gem. Don’t take this nationally accredited museum for granted, visit it today! Admission is free and exhibits change frequently so it’s never the same museum experience . WKM is a treasure and we are blessed to have it in the region . Definitely worth jumping off the interstate for a visit!
