I have been to several of the plays at the Barter and loved them all.
There is also a "Barter Stage 2" just across the street from the Barter that is smaller but offers great shows, too. If you don't see something you like on the main billboard, check out the show at Stage 2. There is also a place there to eat or snack.

I have seen several good plays at this theatre the two that stand out to me as being excellent are Les Miserables and Cinderella. I thought Le Mis was very well done and the music stayed with me.
I took my granddaughter to see Cinderella and she loved it they put a new twist on the story. My grandaughter is very familiar with the original story and she loved barter theatre's version.

These are the most helpful and accommodating theater staff I've encountered! Check out the Stay and Play packages for package theater/hotel reservations. It's a very smooth process.

The plays here are fantastic. Saw 2 in one weekend, one at the main stage and one at the smaller Stage II across the street. There's a nice cafe at Stage II, a gift shop at each theater, and lovely grounds with a beautiful fountain between the two stages.

Can't say enough good things about Barter Theater. GO!

Really a nice, historic live theater but the quality of the performance is highly dependent on the stars. There are often major celebrities but while we were there, the play was quite amateurish.
