“small but some great local art”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

It looks much larger from the outside and online, but regardless, there is some great local art for sale from a variety of artists and at a reasonable price. It's worth a visit if you are an art person!

“If you enjoy crafts, go”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

This is a beautiful, interesting facility with lots of retail space showcasing a variety of crafts. Not far from downtown Abingdon & definitely worth a visit, if you enjoy perusing arts & crafts galleries. A good place to pick up gifts (all price ranges) with a local flavor.

“An inviting stop”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

We were enroute to North Carolina along I81 and saw the sign for Heartwood along the route. Take a few hours to stop here. It has wonderful info about the whole of Virginia. You can browse and buy the artisans work. Listen to great Virginian music and have a great lunch. Well worth the stop. I purchased the best body cream ever.

“A wonderful array of items”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

This store is so big! They have a bunch of hand made crafts and little kiosks that will provide you information on Appalachia crafts, stories, and hiking. There is so much to see in this center. I love all of their handmade items and their soaps smelled so wonderful! Not only do they have material items, but also edible ones that you can eat. There is a little snack bar and you can eat inside or outside (on a nice day of course) and there is a stage too. I am not sure exactly what the stage is for, because we went at 5:30 in the evening and it was pretty empty in there. It was probably because we were a group of 20 so they didn't want the place to be overcrowded!

There are so many unique items to discover here and everyone should check this place out!
