Owner description: We are a small Virginia Farm Winery located in Abingdon on the far southwest side of Virginia near the Tri-Cities of Bristol, Johnson City and Kingsport, TN. We acquired 53 acres of land in this beautiful area and thought we would do something to keep us healthy, active and creating something. We began planning our 10 acre vineyard in 1997; planted our first 500 plants in 1998 and completed our 6000 plants by 2001. Our main grape varieties are: Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Chardonel, Traminette, Pinot Noir, Norton, Chambourcin, Viognier. Our first fermentation began with our year 2000 harvest. We have a pleasant, rustic atmosphere. We opened our tasting room June 1, 2001, and are now open from March 15 to December 15, Tues-Sat,10am-6pm AND Sundays 12-6pm. We are closed every Monday and Thanksgiving during that time span. Come try our wines and enjoy the quiet serenity of the area and friendly, comfortable hospitality.

“Good wine”
Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

This is a local winery and family owned. We did a tasting of 6 different wines for $5 that was donated to a local charity of our choice. We bought a bottle of wine , cheese and crackers. They do not sell any other food there but you can bring your own picnic. The grounds were so petty and relaxing. The wine was so good we had to lay under a tree to take a little nap before we started driving again.

“Beautiful Location”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by on a week day for free tastings and a tour with a small group of people (tastings are $6 on weekends). Wine was great with a huge selection of all kinds. Prices were very fair. Nice and informative tour of the wine making process. Tasting room had huge selection of wine related gifts for purchase. Very beautiful location.

“No whining allowed”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

When we did our tasting, the tasting fee was donated to a charity (there were several options). I really liked the fact that the owners were willing to contribute those proceeds to the community. The grounds are beautiful, and have a stream running through it. There are picnic tables, so plan to spend time there enjoying the tranquility and your newly purchased wine.

I really enjoyed the grounds and the wines. However, it was my first wine tasting and I felt that the attendant could have done a better job. I tasted six wines out of the same Glass with no rinse in between. I think that skewed the flavors a bit. They did have crackers to clean the pallet but no water. It was off season so I'll chalk it up to that. Overall a great little place.

“Wonderful Winery”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

What a wonderful find in Abingdon Virginia, we were in Bristol TN and traveled over for the day. Outside seating to relax by the stream, drinking wine and eating cheese. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to share all kinds of information with you. They do charge for the tasting but you get to choose a one of the charities they support to donate that money too. If you like dry wine they have a White Pinot Noir that was fantastic and their "Our Special Red" a blend of four grapes was such a wonderful treat. They have a wine for every taste. If you are in the area a definite top location to visit.
