Stayed here for our daughter's graduation from Middlebury College. Daphne and Peter were just the right amount of friendly. They seemed genuinely happy to have us at their beautiful home.on arrival we were offered homemade cookies, coffee, iced tea, etc. The gardens surrounding the house are lovely and manicured.the house is so clean, decorated beautifully and comfortably. We stayed in the sunrise/sunset 2 room suite since our son accompanied us. Both rooms were gracious in size, very light with many windows, comfortable with a chair ,night tables and lamps. There was ample closet space with lingerie hangers. The bathroom was nicely sized, excellent shower and shelves for our personal items. We all slept great ,great mattresses and high quality sheets. (The towels were also plush and seemed new).
BREAKFAST ...was among the best we have ever had a B&B !!! Fresh local ingredients and served on time when we requested it. First morning we started with a fruit and yogurt parfait, fresh rhubarb & blueberry coffee cake, homemade jam and butter, out of the garden asparagus frittata and bacon.Next day also started with juice, yogurt parfait, rhubarb and cranberry muffins, oatmeal pancakes with homemade turkey bacon sausage.
This is a little bit far for Middlebury but it is less $ ,the drive is beautiful and the lake is a 5 minute walk. Perfect place for biking!
We will be back .
