Owner description: Alta turns 70 next winter. Alta's place in the ski world is unique, its history storied. Alta's culture blends this past with the future as it presents, along with Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, America's first lift-served interconnect. Alta and pure, unspoiled skiing are synonymous. Alta's wide variety of terrain, breathtaking alpine scenery and superb snow conditions combine to create a unique setting. Alta continues to offer a ski-only experience.

I loved the fact that there were no snowboarders. The trails were groomed to perfection. While it was a rather warm day (early April), my husband and I did some of our best skiing. Can't wait to come back next year.

I can definitely recommend Alta for a day of good skiing. Enjoyed it a lot every time I went.

Do note that snowboarders are not allowed so if you are a snowboarder, Snowbird is the closest resort to visit.

Will definitely come back!

I love alta. It is the most enjoyable place for us to ski. If you want a fancy, spa like environment, go to snowbird or a park city resort. If you just want to ski, hit up Alta!

Alta is rightly famous for powder and steep runs. Aside from the morning rush on Collins, lines are rarely bad. While it's not a huge resort, there is extensive terrain to find for good skiers. I've been going for several years and am still finding new pockets. Adventurous intermediates looking to improve will be happy, too. If you just want laid back cruisers, a weekend will be enough and other resorts will have more terrain for you.

I've skied in Colorado and Utah has much better snow, particularly Alta. Even better is that Alta is for skiers only, no snowboarding allowed. It's only a 40 minute ride from the airport. More greens than Snowbird, which is great for families and first time skiers.
