Please don't come because I always want them to have room for me

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 17, 2016
My husband and I have come here for years. It is a ski in- ski out lodge on the best slopes anywhere. Almost always have great snow. The price of the room includes an anything you want for breakfast and a fabulous 4 course dinner every night with many chioices. The staff is great. Tom, the owner, is always around and dinner at the Wasatch table with Sherman and other guests is a great way to meet other guests. Free drinks and horses d'our vessel every night. If you want to ski, not shop, thus is the only place to be. It is a short drive from the airport so you can skip on your travel days...impossible anywhere in Colorado.
Date of stay: February 2016
Room Tip: It seems that all rooms have mountain views.

Dear Lisa:
Thank you for your gracious review and kind compliments. It is an honor to host you and your husband here at the Rustler, and your wonderful company is always welcome at the Wasatch table. We agree Alta is THE place to ski, and hope to have room for you and your tall drink of water for many years to come. Our access door to door from the airport to the Rustler is without compare but we'll keep that our secret! Warm regards and hopes to see you in the near future, Sheridan Davis

The Rustler Lodge remains the top shelf, exceptionally managed operation that we have cherished over the last 30+ years.
Year in and year out their ability to deliver an extraordinary lodging, dining and skiing experience remains superb. We invade them with a large group that surely poses serious challenges to them, but they flawlessly execute our visit with a remarkably consistent first class approach.
The only thing lacking is the Rustler's failure to arrange it so that the Patriots are playing in the Super Bowl game during our visit every year, instead of the other rather uninteresting teams...but I know they're working on that for us.

We enjoy the camaraderie that accompanies your Snow Weasel group and thank you for the “exceptional” review. Indeed, we would love to arrange the most interesting Super Bowl possible for you, however, we are better prepared to help you enjoy Alta's Supreme Bowl. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year! - Rebecca Johnson

We visited the Rustler with a group of friends from throughout the US for 3 days of great skiing at Alta. The place is perfect...a bit retro, a bit rustic, great food, friendly staff. We'll definitely be back.

The experience at the Rustler begins long before arrival. After reserving on line, you are promptly contacted by e-mail to confirm all the details. Shortly before your arrival date they contact you again to orient you to the lodge and help plan your stay. We called the spa before arrival to schedule treatments from a wonderful menu of services and they were very helpful. They also help you arrange transportation if you wish and we used the highly recommended Alta Shuttle.

On arrival at the Rustler you are greeted warmly as if you are returning to a friend's home. Jackie and Rebecca greeted us and checked us in. They gave us a helpful overview and answered all our questions. Robert, the bellman, handled our luggage and showed us to our room. He then gave us a tour of the lodge which was very useful. We then enjoyed a drink at the Eagle's Nest bar with a very nice wine/beer list and a full bar. John, Kim, and Zac gave great friendly service all week. The roaring wood fire helped give great atmosphere not to mention the fantastic view. In the early evening there would be complimentary hors d'oeuvres in the bar.

The meals at the restaurant were all top notch and the service was attentive every night. Renee, George, Amber, and Steve were standouts. Chelsea and Madeline always presented a friendly greeting and took us to our table.

The room was spacious and comfortable with fabulous mountain views. The ski in ski out experience we had was the best ever with a convenient large locker a few feet from the slopes and a chair lift to return you to your comfy digs at the end of a great day skiing. The full service ski shop on site is a huge plus.

Another bonus is the spa on site which is located next to the pool area. There is an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi or an indoor jacuzzi if you prefer along with sauna and steam room. Shower and changing facilities with abundant towels are right there at your fingertips.

Overall our experience at Alta's Rustler Lodge helped make this a relaxing epic ski vacation. We are already planning our return!
