Alta's Rustler Lodge: The Total Ski Package

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Feb 7, 2015
I have been going to Alta for decades and the Rustler just gets better each year. We go to ski, not to be seen. No furs, no baloney, just great ski in/ski out with excellent food and service. Oh, did I mention the spa? Great masseuses, best steam west of NYC, gorgeous outdoor pool, and a 'How may I help you attitude across all lines of staffing! Treat yourself to a real ski experience. Oh yeah, best powder in the country! Thanks, Kate & Staff! tb

These guys are the best. Great location, delicious breakfast and dinner included, comfortable renovated rooms. We stay here with our large group and they are always friendly and responsive. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this place.

Room tip: 500 level is the same floor as the restaurant... great for limping in for dinner after a long day of skiing!

You cannot imagine a more relaxing environment for a long SuperBowl weekend. Of course, the Alta skiing is fantastic, but the staff at the Rustler make it a perfect relaxing and fun weekend. The Snow Weasels have been coming to the Rustler for many years. I have been coming for 7 years along with my son and now we cannot imagine any place else for skiing. From the check-in (keys are immediately ready), to the ski rentals (no hassle at all and no wait), to the extraordinary food at each meal, to the front desks willingness to always help with a smile --- they even brought two bags of ice to the bar, so my buddy and I could ice our knees while sitting by the fire with a beer. For the Rustler staff, it is all about a comfortable, warm, fun stay. And the amenities are superb --- great pool, hot tub, steam, fitness center, etc., etc., etc.. An absolute gem !!!

The best way to describe the hotel is with a string of adjectives and other descriptors: classy, personable, elegant, foodie, excellent service, and so on. Food is fantastic, the staff is fantastic, the decor is fantastic, the outdoor pool is fantastic, the spa is fantastic, the facilities for ski rental and storage are fantastic, the rooms are fantastic and hyper-clean, the little gym is fantastic, the views are fantastic, the bar is cozy....and fantastic. If Iv'e forgotten to mention anything, it will undoubtedly have been fantastic, too. These guys (Steve and his brother, Ken) loved The Rustler. I guarantee that you will, too. Special thanks as well to Jackie who invited us to the Wasatch dinner table and for the tour. Jackie exemplifies the class of the lodge along with John and Rebecca at the bar and so many others who made us feel more at home than if we were at home....LOL!

The lodge itself is not as spectacular as some other slope side Condos, but the other amenities more than make up for this. The location is perhaps the best spot for high end skiing that you will ever find. You are right as the base of Alta, including your very own chairlift and a short van ride away from Snowbird. The dining is a delight, the food choices and the staff are second to none. Will not be my last visit to Alta's Rustler Lodge

This is one of the best ski lodges I have stayed in... The rooms are perfect - they match you to a room that fits your party size.

The dining is great, breakfast and dinner are included and the meals are top class. The managers and employees go above and beyond to ensure a great stay.

Ski in and ski out is awesome. The hot pool and hot tub is perfect after a day on the slopes.

The best ski lodge in Alta - no doubt!
